Was the miracle not in '89? Anyway, I reckon it would have been I want it all. I remember back then I was dying for them to tour as I'd never seen them live and was sure I was about to get my chance. Bummer!!

I Want It All would of been the first track. I guarantee it.
Too bad Queen didn't perform a song from 'The Miracle' on a public television music show in the TOTP kind of way. Freddie could of handled it, if he could handle two days of filming 'Breakthru'

Yea although he looked pretty poorly at the time I wonder if he'd have been up to performing maybe one song when they were awarded the best band of the 80's. That would have been cool. But I guess only Freddie knew what he was able to manage and for whatever reason decided against it. I'd imagine it was a case of if I can't be my very best then its nothing at all.

I'm not sure there's a perfect opening song on The Miracle. They could have opened with Tie Your Mother Down, and I Want It All could have come early in the set. But hopefully they would have rotated many songs as the opener, I hate it how Queen used to play exactly the same set every single night on one tour. Nowadays when fans know setlists via the Internet, the audience would get extremely bored when they always know what song is going to come next, and hell, you'd think that the band also gets tired of performing the same show every night. It's also boring for fans who collect ROIOs when they get 30 similar concerts from a tour. Thankfully most of my favourite bands like to change the set every night. But getting back to Queen... there's lots of songs they could have used to open concerts, lots of songs they could have used to end them too. It's interesting to think up setlists for an imaginary Miracle tour that would/could have taken place in 1989-90...

sorry yea it was 89! as the magic tour setlist wasnt really for die hard fans i think a miracle tour setlist would have had to have some rarely heard stuff or even sollo stuff a Queen version of man on fire would have been great.

It wasn't the case, I presume. It's a different thing to film a video and do as many takes as you wish, and to perform a song live and get it right in one go. Considering Freddie's status and his perfectionism, he probably thought about it and decided it was too risky. Also, keep in mind that his health condition was unstable at the time and he probably couldn't predict in what shape he would be on a particular day.

In keeping with previous tours, a new song would probably have been chosen; perhaps modified version of I Want it All the most likely contender

Dead on Time would have been a nice fast one to open up with the intro giving Fred a nice opportunity to Roar his way into the concert like TYMD at Wembley best intro to this song imo.
Hero I love from Milton Keynes absolute belter and rip roaring start to a concert, not sure what shape his voice would after this lot, I think my throat would be bleeding!

Well I'd guess they would start with a taped version of Party, which would go directly in I Want It All
