I haven't looked yet, but,...why is AOBTD paired w/ Dragon Attack?  Last time I checked AOBTD charted #1 here in the USA and had Don't Try Suicide as the b-side.  So shouldn't this be the b side then?

ps - why the new user ID Greg?!?

GT is Gary Taylor, who helps Greg out a lot, and has done masses of work on this and other recent Queen projects. They may sing from the same hymnsheet, but they are two different people.

I guess the reason is they have based AOBTD on the more common UK release. The UK release meets the Top 40 rule, but agreed it charted higher in other countries, so might have been better going for a non UK format.

Thanks Walter. I think this time the box is a little more worthy just for Soul Brother, Human Body and I Go Crazy...not many but it´s something

Thanks guys, this is a good topic.
If we had of gone for the US release then we would of had no picture sleeve to use. We didn't want to go for the Japan release as we already have two in this box already, and it's supposed to reflect an international feel. In the end we didn't go for the UK release either..........so we used the release from Mexico.

Gary, one other question. Did Under Pressure / Soul Brother get a different picture sleeve and chart within the top 40 anywhere else in the world apart from the UK? The reason I ask is judging from the photo earlier in the thread it looks like we have 2 covers in this set. that are almost completely black with minimal writing etc. It would have been nice to get a rarer cover for Under Pressure than, what looks like, the UK one. Especially given the cover of Calling All Girls which is obviously the only real option for that single. I guess there was the Japan Snowdon photo sleeve (not sure if it charted top 40), but then again reading your previous post maybe that woudl mean too many Japanese versions in the box again.

Good point, and this was addressed.
So again we never went for the UK issue and if you look carefully (though it's not a very good pic), you will see it's the Spanish release. The nice thing about these spanish speaking countries (inc Mexico) is that they usually had the spanish spelling of the song on the front cover.....and that makes it more interesting to use as the covers for these box sets.

This is REALLY good news.
There are NO sign of the 12" mixes, so hopefully they'll either be in boxset number 4 or they'll do a proper double CD release.
Hmmm. I know which will be the more expensive option, so I think they'll go for boxset 4 :(
There will be NO 12" mixes or instrumentals or whatever released. Never. The plan is to release direct copies of the original 7" LPs.
Aha!
I didn't know that.
So this 4 box-set release is an even more watered down verison of the originally proposed/planned boxset of 10CDs than I realised.
Well. I won't be buying any then.
Good job Queen Productions limited them to only 10,000 copies isn't it.
I'd rather (and I am) spend my money on ebay obtaining the original vinyls.

You are absolutely right GT, it´s the Spanish release. As spaniard I would had prefered the mega rare picture sleeve for the you are my best friend spanish single (in vol 1), I even don´t have it! This under pressure cover is a little more interesting than the UK version but unfortunately there are no big differences between them, mainly the subtitle "bajo presion"

I'm very skeptical of this "GT" dude.

Maybe he could ask us for information, start pointless rants, brainwash, call us names, and never really deliver anything.  Only then could he truly help out Greg Brooks.

I understand that, but it charted at #1 in the USA and #7 (?) in UK, so it seems to me that they should have used the USA pairing, even though DA is better than Suicide.
