Who says that only gay people can sing "I Want To Break Free"? It was a very heterosexual man - namely John Deacon - who wrote it.
And not every non-queen fan knows all the words off by heart.
And of course they (thats right - they - Brian, and Roger as well) did it for the money. Every single band out there does it for the money or they would be bigger liars than the politicians.
And its Paul RoDgers.

I think you'll find that most musicians do it for the music, and if they are very lucky they can make a living out of it. Making a living is very different to being so money-crazed that you piss all over your fans by constantly re-releasing the same stuff in different packages knowing full well that the fans will buy it because they collect everything.
I'm not saying a straight man shouldn't sing "I Want To Break Free" but John obviously wrote it with Freddie in mind to sing it. Paul RoDDDDgers just looks ridiculous barking it out.

And if you want to take issue about my spelling, learn some basics yourself.....it's OF course, not OFF course.
You are for real aren't you?
let me name some bands who have "carried on" key original members having departed... deep purple, the who, kiss, ac/dc, led zeppelin, pink floyd, thin lizzy & ufo
they have every right to carry on - as do queen. the dead band member(s) don't own the right to the name...the band does. you can dislike the music (i for one do dislike it) and if so - don;t buy it...
but you can't remove their right to chase the cash

It's all about the Money $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ .... why else would 50-60 year olds dance and prance on stage except for the addiction for Money (and there's NOTHING wrong with that) but can you honestly say that The Cosmos Rocking was a album made for the Love of Music?? I think not....It was made to sell and have radio play.....as we use to call Bubblegum music..... you want true music, listen to early QUEEN and early Zepplin and Floyd and Van Halen (Roth) and on and on..... but once the $$$$ comes in, the music goes downhill......and the Fans can tell, we all love QUEEN but in all truth, the later songs/albums were money making items...... just my 2 cents (which I know isn't worth nothing) lol .....
cheers

They still do it simply cause it´s what they DO and what they LOVE to do! And of course they´re also in it for the money, who isn´t?
I work as a chef. I love cooking. It is what I do and more or less the only thing I want to do(as a profession I have to say before I get comments :D). I see myself as good at what I do and if I can make money at what I do and love doing, GREAT!
If you think about it, it´s not that hard to understand. Also, some of you say that "Uh, they have enough money on their accounts, why charge fans for a ticket to see them?" Are you guys for real, seriously. What about the guy driving the bus? What about the guy rigging the lights, and the guy taking care of the Red Special? Are they also in it for the love of music? Well I hope they love what they do but they´re also in it for the money.
And regarding Thin Lizzy...is there ANY original member still in the band?
Regarding AC/DC, they hired the "new" guy(forgot his name) basicly cause he looked and sounded like Bon Scott. Would you rather see a FM impersonator over Paul Rodgers? I know I wouldn´t.

my point of view is simple. as a young queen fan who didn't have the pleasure to see the first queen line up. i am happy to of had the chance to see them singing with another legend. without Paul Rodgers i prob wouldn't have seen brian or roger play ever. queens music was ment to be heard live, n theres no one better to play it live than bri n roger

Little Richard is still performing to this day, and because HE LOVES WHAT HE DOES (Same thing with Brian and Roger).
EDIT-- Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a career something you are supposed to do because you love it and you make money doing it? That's what they told me in school plenty of times in the past.
