Take Good care of what you´ve got Brians father said to him
isn´t it poetic that Paul plans to knob off with his band
Bad Company !!!!!!
there will be many a life long Queen fan in their thirties and forties saying
good riddance to bad rubbish
Sorry Paul, you may have been a smashing bloke (?) but good enough to replace the charisma, voice and artistic imput of Freddie ?????
Come on , you can´t be serious !!!!!
(or maybe no one ever was !!!!!)
whadyall think ?????

I think it's a shame we didn't get better music out of them. I had faith that Brian might've rescued a 2nd album with a couple of good songs.

On the other hand, I'm glad he's gone. Sick of his aimless blues trills and the way he pronounces 'through' the night. When he says it it's more like threeeeuuuuuuuu....

Really shits me.

I stand by "Some Things That Glitter" though, there were Queen moments in there; you would cheat yourself by wishing to think otherwise.
it's really sad
the live shows were superb, and I thought the album was rock solid as well
I think a second album would have been a better product. Brian only writing 3 songs means he must have spent little time on QPR and much time on astronomy / t.r williams
also- name one major group whose debut album is their finest album?
had they stuck to it - I'm sure they would have produced some more great music.
and I love Paul. he did the songs his own way and managed to NOT sound like a second rate Freddie Mercury

I agree "some things that glitter" is a very good song, but the album as a whole was boring, and the second tour was also boring. Time to move on, Paul and queen wern't a good fit..... Surf's up....Queens out!

My own opinion:
What would we have had if Queen had not recruited PR , i loved the fact that i got to see Queen Live again after last seeing them in 86 at knebworth.
The MEN show was a highlight of my year , the DVD shared on here Live in Chile was awesome , seeing Las Palabras des amour Live was again awesome.
Live in Argentina again shared on here.
Okay i was not a PR fan and admit i have criticised but looking back now at what they achieved(now they have called it a day) i now realise how good it was.
IF the biggest Rapper in the USA can manage to listen to Queen +PR and use a sample (i must admit i downloaded it immediately yesterday when i found out !!) then thats good enough for me.
Thanks PR and i do hope we have not seen the last of you.
On that not i will go off and enjoy Super live in Japan 5.1 HD I recommend it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(+a nice cold Stella)

I liked Some Things That Glitter, there are Queen-y bits, but it has to be noted that there is also a distinct nasal twang on some of the slow bits. On the other hand... not as unpleasant as I would sing it, so maybe I should keep my mouth shut!
There were definate Queen moments on several songs, but Queen and blues don't go together. But I'm still so sad that the chance of another tour is virtually nil, so I will probably never hear them, and i'd listen to far more nasal, twangy, bluesy trilling for the chance to hear them.

I liked every single song on the album (though I could live without Surf's Up...School's Out and Small reprise)
Paul Rodgers is a great live singer (better than most you'd probably find these days)
If they do get another singer, then I think they should get Gary Wright. I love his vocals and his songwriting. He's very underrated. (if you are interested in hearing some Gary Wright, I suggest the song Who I Am)

Without the collaboration of Q+PR most of the younger (e.g. aged 35...30 and minus) fans would perhaps never had the chance to see BM + RT back live on stage together with that phenomenal Queen sound which we all just knew from the DVDs and Videos.
It was a business job which they have done - there was never the intension to replace FM or to re-new and re-form Queen in any way. It was a collaboration for the fun and joy for music. Somebody had to sing and for a certain time PR fitted the idea which BM + RT had + vise versa and I suppose it was at first to play live music (again).
That`s what they did - they played live and it was good.
They gave us memories and perhaps the only thing they can be blamed for was making the "if-thoughts" only more melancholy.
The "If Freddie might still be there...how would it have been? How could they have sounded with Freddie in 2005 or 2008?" thoughts and theories.
I was very p***** of many discussions made concerning Q+PR on the internet and on Queen forums around the world only because of using the name Queen.
I was very p***** that many fans went to the concerts, bought all the QPR stuff and finally s*** all over everything which came out in the end.
I don`t know how high the expections of many people were, but they must have been VERY high.
I was happy to see them live and everything else was a bonus - a different one, but a bonus.
Sounds naive for most of the hardcore fans, but that`s what it was - simple and easy to explain.
I was very aware that the ideal for which in my opinion FM and Queen stands for cannot be reached but I was suprised how much I enjoyed the live shows. The album is another thing. It is different and not Queen. It`s the result of the collaboration. It`s a fine album for that short term collaboration. We don`t know if Queen might still exist in these days if FM hadn`t died and if JD hadn`t gone on a long holiday. We don`t know how they would sound in 2009.
In the end - it`s over - nothing to say about that. Two business partners have split up.
I think the Queen fan base was hit heavily due to that collaboration and the different opinions about this project. The negative things stay - the positive things do hide behind, right?
This project was yet another chapter in the history of Queen and we shall leave it there.
New things might come up and new discussions can be made and hopefully the fans remind themselves of the reasons why the actually like Queen ;-).

Very nice try, and Paul is a great singer. But you can't front Queen and hope not to be compared to what they were. Queen were magic - Q+PR wasn't.
I wish Brian and Roger would try to do something without the Queen name. Weren't they going to do something with a couple of guys from Yes a long time ago? Anyway, the Queen name may result in a lot of money, but it also carries a massive responsibility and legacy.
If they had called themselves The Squids, would we feel differently? Maybe...
But trying to live up to Queen is as impossible as trying to live up to the Beatles - even with the same players, recreating the magic is a daunting task.
Best wishes to Paul - great singer and good frontman. A Bad Company reunion should do well in the States.

So What Do We REALLY think about PR Leaving Queen?
I actually think this is a really good question!
The first thing I thought about was my first reactions when I'd heard the Cosmos Rocks album. And I thought it was fun to hear some new music from Brian May and Roger Taylor and it didn't mean anything who the vocalist was, as long as it wasn't Freddie. I don't like the album all that much because Freddie Mercury was a huge part of Queen, but at least it's fresh and it's got a couple of Queen elements.
I'm not going to complain if May & Taylor make some more music with another vocalist. I think...
PS! I'm going to bed now : )
PPS! I don't understand why May & Taylor didn't sing sang sung on the album. I think Drowse is one of Queen's best songs, and I really like '39 and Loser in the End. ...and Fight from the Inside... Good night!

Is there REALLY anything to think about?

What I really think....
I think this officially kills any chance of Roger and Brian ever touring again; with or without any frontman.

I think its a shame they never got to develop their own sound but the odds were always against them. Some of Cosmos Rocks I really like but there is a lot of filler and some downright terrible songs on there too. Brian's Another World had more of the Queen sound than Cosmos Rocks but I still applaud them for trying something new. I just hope we don't return to the post Made In Heaven days of remixes of past hits and guest appearances by boy bands. Dark days indeed.
