They played 9 nights... the correct date is October 19, 1984.
I'm glad this didn't end in the Queen archives.
It would get lost like the Ibex gig, or Marquee 72 and many others.
Thanks a lot for the xth time [/img]

This is amazing Anthony, thank you!
Last year we got the Holy Grail of Queen collecting - a copy of the multitrack masters of Bo Rhap.
Now we get the Ark Of The Covenent - after 25 years, a South African tour concert and in amazing quality and clarity.
No one seems to have publically asked any pertinant questions about the recording, so I'm going to!
1) Where on earth did you find it?
2) What format is the recording in? ie, did you just find a "done live" stereo mix or do the multitrack masters
exist?
I ask because you say you's hope QPL would release it officially, but there is no way on earth that Queen
would release a live recording from a stereo source as there is no way of doing any over-dubs for a start!
3) Someone has asked you to upload the last four remaining tracks. Is this gig only an hour long then?
Anybody got any other questions?
Cheers Anthony. I think you have just been elevated to "god" status!

Any chance of getting part 2?
Any chance of getting part 2?
Thank you very much for sharing this outstanding recording!
It gives me in some way a new perspective on Queen`s live work. This rough mix is very interesting and powerfull. I noticed details, like the pointed delay (?) effects on Freddies voice or Brians guitar, that are normaly not so audible.
It´s a pity that the complete Budapest 1986 soundboard recording has so much hiss. This Sun City recording is much, much better.
Interesting and great!
One question, apart from the music. Out of a ethical point of view.
Was it really a mixed audience in Sun City, like Brian mentioned sometime?

So at last one of the biggest mysterys as to how the sun city leg of the tour would have sounded is solved. Have to admit this is one of my Works tour shows, loved the piano section after somebody to love. Also Freddie does sound pretty good for 1984, seems a bit more bold then he was often in the early works tour...which always makes interesting shows
Freddie's voice actually reminds me alot of the first rock in rio show now I think about it.
Cheers!
