Wow are you serious. I thought MAF was a really terrible production.
Oh, I was serious in that I thought the material itself was his best in yonks. The production itself?? It was like going to the dentist and finding teeth in my ears.

And speaking of Phil Spector:
I know George Harrison co-produced "All Things Must Pass" with Phil Spector, but - and this is just my taste - I really hate the production of the oh-so-obvious-Phil-Spector-influenced Wall of Sound tracks on that album.

Right there with you. But if you really want to hear some bad production listen to Moon Is Up by the Stones. Worst song on Voodoo Lounge. Also, Are You Experienced? by Hendrix, is some of the worst ive heard as well.

I recently downloaded Clayton Moss' album Cross Section. It is interesting to hear his versions of some Cross songs, but the album sounds like a cheap demo. I think he deserves better.

This is really more a matter of taste, but the job Phil Spector did on Let it Be has always bugged me.
I agree. Glyn John's 3rd compilation (or first according to some labels) of Get Back is much better.
Let It Be Naked is not the Glyn John version as stated by someone, is was re-mixed by three completely different people in the 2000's.
I've always felt that the boy's own Jazz was a let down on the production front. Was it the studio or was it Roy Thomas Baker that made it sound muddy and a bit tinny? Or do I need to get it on vinyl?

Vinyl expands the realm of heard song in many directions. Get the vinyl.
