The Queen Tracklisting Game has now closed, thanks to all who entered, we hope that you found it fun and congratulations to all our winners!

The track selection of "Absolute Greatest" must have been tough for the band, deciding on what classic tracks to include and what to leave out and we were thrilled to see it caused such a great debate on the QOL Message Board!

We are currently compiling all the votes and looking into who got the most in the correct order over the competition's run. The fan with the most tracks in the right placings will win a Signed Art Print worth £775!

No Innuendo ? That's insane

Cool. It's like the better tracks off Classic Queen and the U.S. version of Greatest Hits plus Heaven for Everyone! (sarcasm)

Hopefully this will be something MORE like U2's 18 singles collection (basic hits, good packaging/materials, CD/DVD/Book boxed set) and LESS like any generic unofficial compilation of The Carpenters, The Platters or Kool and the Gang.

You know which ones I'm talking about? Like those "20th Century Masters: Millenium Edition" types.

Why are you thanking all who entered?  You are not affiliated with Queen.

Why do you hope we found it fun?

How do set the value at £775?  Are you an appraiser?

It's not the best tracklist. I would prefer the order of songs to be more interesting and have atleast 25 - 30 songs in the album. There should also be more classic Queen Hits and not-so 80s Pop-Rock orientated, however there is nothing wrong with those songs.

Where is Innuendo?? (#1 in UK and one of the best Queen's songs in anyway)

I always thought that WWTLF was a minor hit.

How many times have you heard Innuendo on the radio lately?  Now compare this to how well known Who Wants To Live Forever is due to its affiliation with the Highlander franchise.  Quite frankly, it was the right choice.  BTW, I do love Innuendo, I think it's a magnificent piece of music.

First, it is NOT a 'greatest hits' package - these have been done already, it is about the 'greatest' Queen songs, and IMO WWTLF is a wider known and much more respected and loved song (outside the fan base) than Innuendo which is all but unknown.

Second, it is never going to please everyone - trying to fit a representaition of Queen's best songs onto ONE disc.

WWTLF may have been a minor hit, but it is cited left right and centre (by artists particularly) as one of Queen's greatest songs. It has an emotional effect on people and many say it makes them cry. That itself makes it a great song.

I am not saying Innuendo is NOT great, but it is much much much lesser known worldwide.

Ok I agree with the Innuendo vs Who Wants to Live Forever argument
but what about Innuendo vs Seven Seas?

Innuendo was a bigger hit (#1 UK) and known more worldwide.....was Seven Seas even played in America??

I cannot speak for the rest of the world with regards to how well known all the songs are BUT SSOR was the 'breakthrough' hit for Queen - they made it into the public conscience with that song and it (after a TOTP appearance) gave them a massive boost in terms of fanbase size.

Also, it was on GH1, which -certainly in the UK anyway - is the best selling album here and so it has been listened to for ten years longer than Innuendo by millions more people.

This argument is fairly bunk anyway as Innuendo is roughly twice the length of SSOR so you'd need to take another song off too - which would the other one be?

Just because Innuendo was (very very briefly) a no.1 single (in te EASIEST time for anyone to get a no.1 ) that does not make it one of the greatest. It is about public perception I guess and I can't see TWO songs that deserve to be withdrawn for the sake of a song that, really, is much less known than all the others included. It is a matter of time - and I absolutely believe that if there was another 6 minutes of space on a cd then Innuendo WOULD be on it.

If the list isn't based on whether or not the songs were hits, as someone said before, then why not have My Fairy King, Ogre Battle, The Millionaire Waltz, March of the Black Queen, Brighton Rock, '39, Prophet's Song, etc.? I like most of the songs on this tracklist, but, if they're basing it on the quality of the songs, the ones I just mentioned should definitely be on it. If they put some of the non-hit, lesser-known masterpieces on there along with the hits, it would create a renewed appreciation of Queen among the public.

...silly silly arguments. So why One Vision yes - Innuendo no, why You´re My Best Friend yes - Innuendo no, why TATDOOL yes - Innuendo no, and so on ...
