To which song could you cry... and cry...?

"No-One But You (Only The Good Die Young)" and Brian´s solo song "Another World" are so sad songs... Whenever I listen to this songs I could cry. And sometimes I cry a long time.

Both songs are remembering me to that what happened to my mother. She died when I was 21. This is 6 years ago now but it really hurts! Especially because I grew up without my father.

I´s not easy to be alone in this world!

I´s a serious post... sadly!

The closest Queen song I think would be "These are the days of our lives" when i think about how frail Freddie looked in the video, and how much effort it must have took.  That was his goodbye to the fans IMO.







I get choked up listening to "Keep Me in your heart for awhile" by Warren Zevon.  I was always a fan of his, and he wrote and recorded it in the last year of his life when he knew he had only months to live, in great pain.

... Recently I cried watching "Love of my life" from Live in Ukraine... the feeling in Brian´s singing (specially in "love of my life dont leave me"..." and now desert me...")... the expressions in people´s faces... everything...

I second "Love of My Life" from Ukraine.  Simple, beautiful.

(I like to follow it up with "I Was Born to Love You" from Japan 2005; always makes me smile.)

Crying? I don't know...when the guys came to play here in support of the Cosmos Rock tour, I got so excited about having the chance to see them that I was all laughs and shouts. :op I didn't have the time to stop and ponder on the whole thing and then cry. That's peculiar: I cry only when I have a certain time to think - crying is usually a result of a dramatic thought. It's very rarely direct and straightforward and immediate. I suffer from crying retardation, I guess.  

Queen's songs aren't usually of the kind that would make me cry. When they can elicit such reactions, as Love of My Life or My Melancholy Blues, I usually get so absorbed by Freddie's technique and the way he's making his way through the song that I don't relate to them in this sense; I get rather excited and find it beautiful, but I don't feel like crying. 

Anyway, I'm not making any sense at all. :op I find it hard to describe my feelings and emotions. 

In theory, I could cry to the songs, but it'd depend much more on the context, I guess, and the context being a situation I'm going through or a certain moment of my life, than on the songs themselves, if that's to make any sense. 

Have you never cried over things which are supposedly to be very upbeat? But you're so fragile or simply overemotional at a certain moment that you find reasons to cry over the thing. 

I know, it's called "hormones" in medicine. Hehe.

As a comestible, i always cry when I hear "Flash! Argh! You killed every one of us!"
What a sad sad song.

I also cry when I think of the money that I spent on Hot Space and Made In Heaven...these are the only albums I have ever bought and they put me off music forever.

I think Qweeen should definintlies reform and play stadiums like they did in the fifties.

"Love Of My Love" from Sheffield mooved me a lot when I heard it first time (on CD). It was very breath-taking for me. At the time I knew very little about Queen. Exciting...
"Mother Love" is also extremely poignant.

As for "Love Of My Life" from Ukraine- it was like- "Oh, here it's,  at last ! Something really beautiful." I didn't enjoy much of the concert before it. But the song saved situation, and was really like a gem. And Brian's "zzzzzzzzzzaspivajmo" (which means- let's sing)...... I though- "Oh, you are wonderful man Brian May!" It wasn't a sad moment, it was joyful!

Most reccently would be.. Where are you now? by Roger taylor on the Electric Frie album it upsets me to think tha.. Looking at Rogers life. and how he met and worked with fantastic ppl in his life (Freddie:) to think tha now his on his own.. Where are these ppl now..

I cry quite randomly at Queen songs. I loved them from the age of 8, and my childhood was very unhappy, so sometimes listening just brings me back and I feel overwhelmed and cry.



Sometimes it's not about being brought back, but just knowing that Freddie died, and sometimes it's just the sound of that beautiful guitar that can set me off. 



Music affects me emotionally very much anyway, either making me hapy/sad or angry - though thankfully nothing Queen did made me angry because their music is to good for that. It is just crap music that makes me feel angry - when things are all wrong LOL. Hard to explain.

Yeah, it would have to be Brian doing [i]Love Of My Life[/i] in remembrance of Freddie.

I rarely actually cry listening to music, but Love of My Life in Live Aid and for some bizzarre reason Tao Torriette have brought me very very close.  Both basically just because of their haunting beauty.  In Love of My Life the beauty of the song combined with the simplicity of the outfits and performance and in Tao Torriette just the sound of Freddie's voice is unbelievable and the piano is so so sad in places.  I know its not a sad song at all, but it always makes me feel very wistful and almost sad even though its one of my favourite songs.
