I could sit here and fly all kinds of insults the way of 'believers' but I choose not to - especially as I have two dear dear friends who are hopelessly lost in the midst of their faith, but as an AGNOSTIC I second that last notion.

I thought when someone said that about everyone believing in something, it meant that people hold something to be true.  Like believing that there is a God or believing that there isn't.  i thought the person meant that everyone holds some sort of belief, not whether it is belief or disbelief to think something is or isn't true.  If i believe i am eating a pear when I am eating an apple, i believe it is a pear, you believe it is an apple.  The act of 'believing' does not affect the reality, it is an expression of my own perception of reality.  But I am determined not to start this again.  And particularly not in this thread.
