i would say "look out England,Croatia are coming" but we've been clever this time [after last year and mclarens umbrella at wembley] and 'kneecapped' their best players before they arrive :-]

Poland 1-1 Northern Ireland.

N. Ireland still in it with 2 games left. I'll settle for that.

Yep. Good result in a tight group. Any of the top five can still qualify. If NI can beat Slovakia in Belfast on Wednesday, our final game against the Czech Republic in Prague will be a cracker!

Argentina are my fav football team. Dunno why, maybe becos I grew during Maradonna's time or maybe because I just love their jersey. He seems to be a lousy coacj thouh. I hope they still qualify for the World Cup. Otherwise I'm not sure if I'd be watching any games at all.

there wont be a bigger cheer in England come the end of the qualifiers if the cheating Argies dont qualify.
to quote a certain person on here: "it will be epic!"
not to bothered about the Scots qualifying this time,i dont think they can beat the Dutch or finish as one of the top runner's up but be nice to see one, maybe both,of the Irish teams in South Africa next year, that Trap O'Tony fellow has done a pretty good job so far :-]

You were eliminated in the Euro qualifiers when you lost to Croatia and that was at Wembley too right? Time for a revenge or sorts, or a repeat of history?

I'm reminded of the response of a Portuguese colleague when I updated him about the result of that game. He said he'd have preferred England qualified and then gotten beaten in the semi finals on penalties LOL

dont get me started with the Portugese game of 2004 when we had a perfectly good goal disallowed [sol campbell allegedly fouled a portugese bloke when in fact sol climbed over his own player] by a very dodgy referee and then the 'diving winker' and pals sneaked through on penalties and again in 2006 :-p *bastards*

I hope Argentina qualifies. And France and Portugal. These teams are just necessary to have a good high standard World Cup. I know about the English-Argentinian history but the current teams are new and deserve a chance. And as ParisNair said correctly: it would be more fun for England to play vs Argentina in the tournament than if Argentina would not qualify at all. I keep my fingers crossed for the team (the German team had their own "scandal" with Argentina in 2006 :-)), they should be there - one of the most passionate and gifted teams of the world.
I do not want any google ads here.
