Thats alright Holly. We will be cheering on the English for the exact same reason, though rivalries will resume after the English have won. Unless of course the diving cheating Brazilian born croat lives up to his reputation.

I actually had more fun hearing about Paraguay vs Argentina than watching Brazil vs Chile.

We'll be asking who the hell England are

or wondering where the hell Maradonna is

or wondering why you never got to beat the Germans in a penalty shoot out

:P

Meanwhile the Tartan army will be wondering where the hell their passports are and why they are out of date :)

Argentina will still qualify (barely, but will).
Yet, they will do much better in the World Cup that expected.

Hyped teams never win World Cups, and many of them disappoint on their performance.
It happened with Holland 1990, Colombia in 1994, Spain in 1998, and France, Argentina, and Portugal in 2002.

There's too much praise from the press for favorite teams, and many of them allow it to get their heads thinking it will be easy to reach the final.

I would like to believe it but I don´t really think so,have you seen the match?Argentina has the worst team in decades, just a bunch of losers with no coach heading for disaster. And there´s no much support for this losers, somebody threw a shoe to the motherfucker Messi at the Buenos Aires airport.

Messi plays very well, though. Very well. It’s just that they isolate the guy and he has to do everything on his own - and he does a lot. In that match against Brazil, he’d skilfully own some two or three Brazilian players but then there was no one he could pass the ball to. He gave his blood in that match, he ran like hell and did all he could, but the squad didn’t help.

I think he’s a good player.

-------

Anyway, bring them on! Any squad! I usually cheer for any country playing against Brazil. I rooted for Argentina, it’s serious. CHEATING, OFFENSIVELY UGLY CORRUPT SQUAD - that’s the Brazilian team. That is, a micro-cosmos of the country.

People are saying that Brazilians are specializing in hurling babies as faraway as possible. If 2016 Olympics are in Rio, mothers from all the world will be summoned to try to qualify for this new modality.

And why we always have to be so ashamedly shameful in our relationship with Italians? Italians are rightly baffled  and outraged by the Brazilian mother who threw her baby into the river. Here it’s quite usual and people often find babies abandoned in trash cans or on the banks of filthy rivers. But Italians, how can I put it?, are not used anymore to this kind of savage behavior.

Brazil makes the news. What is it about? 90 % of chance of being the result of some fraud or vulgar remark. 10 % of chance of it being related to the outright offensive UGLINESS of the Brazilian squad - what’s that?

The ugliness of the Brazilian players is an humanitarian issue already. The guy does look like the Predator. I mean, it must be the first human being who looks like the Predator. First time I saw the guy I actually thought it was a costume.

Which is weird because the Brazilian people in general are not ugly. Me, for instance, such a hottie. But it’s a problem with soccer players.

Gotta love the press.

They are either building a shrine for teams, or throwing them in a puddle of mud.
There's no middle ground. Apparently because constructive criticism doesn't sell well.
