Get Down Make Love - a very simple message of what life is all about, but perhaps the lyrics are still too complicated
Don't Try So Hard vs. Hang On In There - this just refers to anyone trying to achieve anything. Looked on the quantity of engagement set in the achievement from too less to too much. Which of them is more wise depends on the listeners state of motivation.

What's so complicated about the lryics in "get down make love?".....it's a pretty straight forward song if you ask me. What's the message?...do we really have too go there, lol. I would say for the lryics, The best from each member are.......... Brian (some freddie) - the show must go on, the song is simply about never giving up, no matter what life is putting you through........Roger- these are the days of our lives, remembering the good times. That's what life is all about............John- spread your wings, an inspirational song about confidence and taking chances in life........Freddie- Love of my life, one of the best love songs I ever heard. The song is about freddie's love for mary austin, and breaking her heart when he came out of the closet, but will always be the love of his life.

The message is "Get Down Make Love". I think complicated is the wrong word. I just think it has too much words.

and We Will Rock You seems to be the counterpart of this.

Don't forget "Procession"

...and what about "God Save the Queen" from ANATO, guys? [/img]
Anyway, my favourite lyrics are those in my signature, from "Play the Game". F***ing true.

How about Mustapha, Seaside Rendezvous, and I'm In Love With My Car?
Lyrically, I love ITTWWC? and Mother Love (and not just because of the holy-crap-this-is-sad factor). From Q+PR, I'd have to go with C-Lebrity; "They're gonna love me/ I can't sing and dance at all/ Some may say I'm lackadaisical/ And if I was real good I'd/ Stand no chance at all"
Bicycle Race is good because it sums up the whole idea of Queen: doing what you love no matter what others say or think. Don't Stop Me Now is along that line, too; being determined and having a good time. I think a lot of Queen lyrics are ignored or dismissed because of the gloriousness of the instruments and vocals (I'm very guilty of that!) and it's easy to do, but i find that if I look at the lyrics without listening to the music, I get the message a lot clearer.

Ok, if nobody wants to give you an explanation, I'll try. First of all you must know- it is Freddie's song, so nobody knows the meaning for 100%. The song is a kind of a fable, fairy-tale. The pivot of the song is a battle between ogres. The rest is just "decoration".
Hm, that was poor explanation...

Regarding Ogre Battle I always thought it was about going out getting into a fight with some drunk idiot

I think Drowse got great lyrics . I love the last verse most, because it's like being in bed and you're really bored but don't want to get up and do anything after all...
Cool Cat also describe a lot of persons out there.
It's always hard these things with Queen, Top 5 lists and such - I enjoy all the songs, though I'm not very fond of "Coming Soon", even though it's in fact getting better every time I hear it... I think you know what I mean!?
Great King Rat is funny, You Take My Breath Away and In the Lap of the Gods are the most romantic songs ever, The March of the Black Queen is just great... and so on!

Drowse: The lyrics intrigue me and make me laugh, as well as summing up everyones feelings about sunday's. Lol. Its a very insightful song thank you roger :-)!!
Is this the world we created?: Amazing!! In dance I'm doing a dance to this song, and my dance is about the bad bits of the world etc. so this song is absolutely perfect!! Thanx Bri!! :-)
All Dead All Dead: I love this song, but it really moves me and makes me very sad. 'The time that comes to everyone' summed death up perfectly. Another excellent song from Bri!! :-)
I'm in Love with My Car: I don't know why, but this song really touches me! Weird!! But I think it's because it shows that someone can love an almost inanimate object over a human!! Rog really excelled in this one!! :-)
Another one bites the dust: Only because this song rings true!! Everyone does bite the dust at some stage!! John often writes songs about facts of life!! Go Deacy!! ;-)
Misfire: A really sweet love song, in my opinion, it's Deacy's best song. It's lyrics are excellent, and I like the music. Go John!!! ;-)
Delilah: Certainly not Freddie's best song music wise, but a brilliant song lyric wise!! I really like the fact that he loved his favourite cat, Delilah, enough to write about her!! It's a beautiful and moving song!! Well done Fred!! ;-)
The Show Must Go On: Once again, not Freddie's best, but the lyrics always manage to pierce my soul enough to make me want to cry!! I will, of course listen to this song on the 24th November!! Beautiful song though Fred!! ;-)
I can't choose between these!! 2 insightful songs from each member, and there are heaps more!!
