How can we cheer Brian up - buy Absolute Greatest Hits or sing the last line of Radio Ga Ga this way "Brian May someone still loves you"  ?  :-)

it's time to call it quits.  TCR was a waste, their solo albums are forgettable.  Hopefully they finally put the queen name to rest,  and realize you can't fill freddie's shoe's.  It just can't be done. Brian should concrentrate on playing with other legendary players. Maybe one more solo album with lots of guests singers and drummers.

Musicians need to stop being preachy.  Bono sucks, Brian is no good at it, and if I see one more famous person hugging Nelson Mandela (as if he's some kind of ID card for having a social conscience) then I think I am going to barf.
"Imagine" said it all almost 40 years ago and it said it better than anything since.  Maybe U2 *think* they're that good but they ain't and it's becoming almost nauseating watching people try.
Seriously, musicians need to fucking stop with the preachy crap.  When the subject matter takes priority over the art, you get bad lyrics by great lyricists.  Ever listen to "Woman is the Nigger of the World"?  It's one of the most important subjects that Lennon ever tackled but lyrically it's his most jagged and unlistenable offerings ever.  And I mean, coming from HIM (the Imagine guy), that makes it all the more embarrassing.

I dunno, musicians as a whole seem unable to write anything decent when they get TOO serious...  "The Call" has the best orchestrations of anything Brian's worked on since Queen bit the dust, and we know from stuff like "White Man" that he's been able to tackle serious topics in an artistic manner ...  but I think lately he's forgotten exactly what he is and gone too far in one direction.

Point being, he could be a preachy personality, but I think he does better as a musician.  He makes a good enough point on his Soapbox; leave it there.  I don't want to lose another great 70's musician to embarrassing crap (ie. Blackmore's Night).

John wrote some great songs with a message (or preachy if you want to call them that).  All you Need is Love, Imagine, even The Word and All I want is the truth.  He also wrote some that weren't very good, Like Waman is the Nigger of the World and The Luck of the Irish.  If he was writing many message songs, he was meant to write some not very good ones among them.  That doesn't mean they weren't better because of their subject matter.

Brian can do what he wants.  And apparently he doesn't want to change the world with his music anyway.
I love that he's such a kind and passionate person.  As far as I'm concerned, his time speaking on behalf of badgers and against low lifes who want to make fox huntil legal again in England in time well spent.

Didn't Brian say on his website last month that he had written and played on a riff-heavy song for Kerry Ellis' new album?  In light of his fanclub letter, could this be the last song he writes for quite some time?  Let's hope it's awesome!

I just reckon he serves the world better as a musician.  It may be one hell of an albatross to carry on your neck, being one of the greatest axe men of all time, but there's worse things for him to be.

I love his blog, I just tremble at the suggestion that he'd put music down to be a full time ... I dunno ... activist/blogger/guy.

Actually it wasnt just a usual blog rant, but THE letter to the OIQFC members - it might be an outdated way of communication beside his soapbox, but.. he surely knows this has more meaning for the fans than his the usual day by day rants. And he goes on in a lenghty way to describe his feelings about the future...  It might be of course irrevelant in 6 months time, when he jumps into WWRY film or whtever.....

With music he really has done it all, so it wouldn't surprise me if most of his future projects weren't musically-related.  Now he's just pursuing other things, like astronomy and stereo photography, where he has plenty to accomplish.

His recent write-ups about Queen's debut album are absolutely priceless.  Queen fans should be grateful for things like this, as there aren't too many rockers who consistently open up and write about their past like that for the world to read.

Or of course, forum members can complain because he's not living his life as they see fit...

Can I just ask, in all seriousness... who is this Adam person everyone is talking about?
I'm sure this was a serious question, but I found it funny at this point in time on a Queen forum.
