The song is boring. Nothing more, nothing less.

Pain is So Close To Pleasure is more underrated in this case.

Not my favorite Queen song. Just doesn't trip my trigger. The vocals are lovely, though.

I think it'd be overrating it to call it a song.

One of the best studio performace of Freddie Mercury can be found instantly in OYOL,  I´ve always loved this song, I must  be nohest at the same time by saying I found a littel wieird that sax sound instead of a Brian touch, but it´s fne anyway an unusual.
I really like the song, the lirics, the way freddie takes his voice to the limit, the way "that love" is expressed and comunicated in a song...Simply I Love the track.

I like it, though it´s not great. Great vocal preformance from Freddie as always..
It´s better to burn out than to fade away.

"One Year of Love" is a great example of Freddie's lack of vocal restraint in the '80s.  His credo then seemed to be: When in doubt, belt it out!  This track called for a heartfelt, understated vocal, but what Freddie offers up is just plain loud and very impersonal.  Sad.

Thank God "These Are The Days of Our Lives" didn't get the same treatment five years later.

"One Year Of Love" is GREAT and definitely underrated!!    It is AMAZING!     It is also brilliant for a band from the 1970's that could do a 1980's style song SO GOOD!!!    What's really great is hearing it on "Classic Queen" right after "Stone Cold Crazy"!!!!    MINDBLOWING!!!

This is very true. It is one of the things which makes Queen such a great band.

A bit surprised how many other Queen fans like this song.  I don't care brian isn't on it. Not every song should sound the same.  A very underated track, but Queen have lots more underated songs than OYOL.
