Hey, i see where your coming from, but to be perfectly honest, it wasn't meant to sound defensive. my whole point was that it doesn't really affect me, and i don't really give a shit...and just wondering why people are really that bothered. i mean they are having a laugh at the end of the day.

and i for one thought stacey solomon was absolutley world class on the night.

and for the person who quoted me and said "so we aren't allowed an opinion if they are sung badly" if you actually read my post the first thing i said was that you ae entitled to your opinion on how the song's are sung.

everyone can have an opinion. i'm not trying to stop anybody having one...i'm just trying to put my point across...adn that is....is it realyl a big deal? does it really affect your lives?

No.  Not at all - but this is a Queen forum, it's a Queen related topic, and if someone has an opinion then this (coincidentally) is the place to offer it.
I see what you mean, of course - it is very easy to draw that conclusion.  It'd be easy for, say, You to assume that I only care about Queen and people doing shitty covers because the only thing you've seen me talk about today is that very topic.

Of course QZ represents 5-10 minutes of my day, and usually I only post on here when my computer is rendering something I'm working on.

Soooo ... short answer : no, it's not a big deal.  At least to me : it's a miniscule part of my day and something that amuses me more than upsets me.

i agree with what your saying,

people are saying they are ashamed to be queen fans and going to other extremes like that.....it's all a bit far fetched to be honest. like you said its a miniscule part of the day, it's jsut some people are taking it a little far in my opinion. of course if that's what you want to do then your more than welcome(sorry if that sounds patronising) but to get so angry abotu a couple of old boys having a laugh is a bit strng really.

Ha well the thing is I have the unhealthy habit of assuming that everyone treats the forum with the same levity that I do .... so I tend not to assume that people are really taking it deathly seriously - I figure it's just a laugh.
But whatever floats one's boat - I've been in enough arguments on this forum for one lifetime.  Hehehe.
ha ha, Amen.

at least there is one person on here whom i can have a constructive discussion with rather than an argument.

all the best.

If all of us at Queenzone got together and put on our own Queen show (and it stank), wouldn't we be open to criticism?

That show would be very interesting... considering how much argument, debate, misunderstanding, frustration and criticism go into some of the discussion threads, i would LOVE to see how we would go about putting together a show!  At least we wouldnt have to pay for lighting, there'd be enough sparks flying and fireworks going off without arranging extra!  :)

I am not of the mind that the rest of Queen should have curled up and died when we lost Freddie.  They are brilliant and experienced musicians and I am thrilled they are still working. They have in most ways served his memory beautifully, keeping him alive for us fans in word and music, and patient as Job when interviewer after interviewer raise his ghost no matter the focus. Their public expression of their personal and professional love for him is beyond reproach.  I thought their instincts with Queen + Paul Rodgers were spot on, and absolutely hope they find some worthy and credible banner to tour extensively under at least one more time.

But, but...

These men are rock royalty and the legacy is owed more regard.  Those who no longer have a say are owed more regard.  It's all very short sighted.  If you keep on popping endlessly out of trap doors and puffs of smoke and tv screens streaming some of the the worst banality of our times and generally screaming that  you're common as dirt, eventually people are going to believe you.
Greatful fan, this post is great - well thought out and well written!  Thank you!  :)
i now have nothing to say.
