she makes me is my least favorite on SHA,  but it's still good.  That say's something about how much I love that album.

I love She Makes Me, great to sing along to, lots of long, sustained notes. As for Leroy Brown - great drum track, if it was recorded in one take I am my mothers uncle.....

I agree....Lilly of the Valley is very strong but come on "Bring Back That Leroy Brown" is pretty damn weak...lol

I LOVE IT!!! Whoever doesn't, you are missing out on a brill song!!
One night Roger was in a foul mood and he threw his entire bloody drumset across the stage. The thing only just missed me - I might have been killed. - Freddie Mercury

misfire is another song that some call filler, along with she makes me.  someone even called leroy brown filler, I couldn't believe me eyes, that's what made me post this thread.  how can someone call a vintage queen song like leroy brown filler?....Misfire is a nice little ditty, not filler nor brillant by any means. Could have fit in side black from queen2 nicely.

Misfire has wonderful guitars and is quite complicated in structure, if you listen carefully. Very clever overall.

I love Misfire. It's one of my favourite Deacon songs; I think that the way Freddie sang it was truly delightful! I also don't mind She Makes Me, however I don't particularly like In the Lap of the Gods. It's by far my least favourite song on the album and is one of my least favourite Freddie songs, if not my least favourite. I just find it incredibly boring. It doesn't interest me at all.

I like it - it gets bonus points just for having an incredibly cool title - but I think it missed being a uniformly great song by sounding as though it was being played back on slow and by melody and guitar and percussion that was perhaps  too focused and simple. I still think it has elements that are interesting and fantastic though, and it's on my shortlist of underappreciated Queen songs.

yeah, I read somewhere (might have been the sutcliffe book) that BBTLB was a filler, and if you ask me, Lily of the Valley was more filler,

also She Makes Me is cool because it sort of sounds like early Floyd, and Misfire is just awesome for the fact that it's deaky's first
