Erm, I'm doing 5:
1. JB
2. Beatles
3. Rolling Stones
4. Black eyed peas
5. ACDC
One night Roger was in a foul mood and he threw his entire bloody drumset across the stage. The thing only just missed me - I might have been killed. - Freddie Mercury

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Treasure Moment yet. Or do they not count as a band, but as a weapon of mass destruction?

No, rather a contagious disease.

I wasn't asking your opinions, dears, I was just stating what I saw.

But, alright, whatever floats your particular boats.

And "The Beatles" ... lol, right.

Agreed, with one exception.  One of those rare covers that [b]beats the already great original:

Yes, thanks for this.

It's kind of like watching my mother die, then having Chad Kroeger crawl inside her body and dance around for over three and a half god-awful minutes.

Can you also upload some videos of people stomping on my cats, or ruining anything else I love?

That's so embarrassing.

On behalf of most Canadians, I sincerely apologize to the wider world for Nickelback.

Despite what anyone with poor musical taste says, this country certainly does have much, much better to offer.

We forgive you. Just try harder to give us more bands like The Guess Who or Rush, and less Nickelback or
Sum 41... Ew, or Three Days Grace...

Oh stop it.  It's a fine cover of a song so good it's largely impossible to ruin anyway.  Perhaps I really appreciate it partly because I associate with hockey, which is something I love very much.  Here it is again, just in case you want to avoid it.  The last part of that clip is 30 seconds of an instrumental piece that will mean nothing to most here, but it made my cry like a baby at 36 years old the first time I heard it live in an arena. It means nothing to the vast majority of the planet, but that 30 seconds of music sold for upwards of 2.5 million dollars in 2008 because it means everything to a relative few. That's music.

So you know what?  Don't worry about Nickelback.  I'm not a fan of the band outside of that song, but they sell a shitload of music to a shitload of young, mostly musically inexperienced people who get excited about it. And anything that gets people excited about music, and lays the groundwork for music being an integral part of their lives for the rest of their lives is alright by me. My first memory of being entranced and swept away by a song was lying by myself on my mother's bed with my chin in my hands at five years old listening to the godawful pap 'Seasons in the Sun' on the radio. I had no brothers or sisters to hand down the cool albums and lived in a small city dominated by one AM hits station.  Over time I found my own way to some of the best music history has to offer, and I did that all without giving a flying fuck what other people thought about what moved me for whatever reason.

It's all good if you just hate this cover because you do.  But do yourself a favour and don't become a narrow crashing bore who is slave to what often wildly insecure professional and self appointed critics tell you it's okay to like.

Tip of the iceberg.  Canadian talent past and present is so deep and so rich I wouldn't even know where to begin. It's a shame it's so hard to crack the US market with the interesting stuff from here. Our media operates under strict Canadian content rules that some are very critical of but it means that wonderful artists get a fair chance to be heard, much to the great fortune of music lovers here. It's necessary here because of the massive gravitational pull of US cultural forces.  We get the best of both worlds.  Only once have I ever disparaged the system when I referred to "Fucking Larry Gowan and his CRTC Canadian content career".  Gowan now leads Styx, or at least did the last time I reluctanty checked.

Sod me, you found out!
I secretly LOVE this cover! My lord, my jeans couldn't BE more wet.

Alright, alright. Let's play fair- no, fuck that

I was fine with your outrageously long post, darling, and I read every word, and almost agreed with you. My god, I could've kissed Chad on his certainly un-brushed mouth. "Seasons In The Sun?" Well, hell, I remember that one, too! I was going to fly your flag and join the armies of "yay for bad music because it gets kids amped to make worse music."

Then we hit the brick wall.

"do yourself a favour and don't become a narrow crashing bore who
is slave to what often wildly insecure professional and self
appointed critics tell you it's okay to like"

Aww. We were gonna be friiiiends!! Then you had to go and call me a slave. What kind of out-of-the-ass explanation for my opinion is that? If I gave five fried frosted fucks about critics then I wouldn't be so nipples-hard over Hot Space.

It's like the excuse you hear some pedophiles say: "why don't you stop thinking like everyone else, huh? You're such a blind conservative sheep!" Sometimes when people say taking two turds in the ear is uncomfortable, it is, and by all bloody means you can fill your brains with decal matter all day long if you want to, but I'm just going t pick the pieces of corn this cover had to offer and go home.

Oh dearie me, now look at myself, I went and made an even LARGER post like some online bigger-dick competition. So I'm going to stop waving my e-wang all over the place and cut myself off with this:

Yes, I am comparing that cover to pedophilia- it's that bad.

I'm 100% positive your dick is bigger than mine.  Why don't you go fuck yourself with it?

With love!
