Skip: "Fat Bottomed Girls" was just another fuck me/suck me rock and roll song." As opposed to most other rock songs? :D
As I said in my earlier post, I don't think that great art need only be about life and death issues. Yes, FBG is a fuck me/suck me song, but I don't think that autonatically makes it juvenile, not unless men stop being interested in getting fucked/sucked when they get older. To me, what determines the juvenile nature of a work is a combination of factors; the content, yes, but also the music, the song-writing and the performances. FBG was IMO finely written with terrific performances and features relatively complex music. As such I do not regard it as juvenile.

Not only did they mix choruses and verses from different nights, but they also mixed single words within a sentence from different nights.

The point being discussed is live albums being *recorded* in the studio, not cutting and pasting portions of performances to create a compilation. Those are two very different things. Plenty of evidence suggests that a very large portion of Kiss Alive was done in the studio. At most, a few vocal lines were redone for Live Killers.

able to write only one of those songs. And this guy writes 5 for the same album.
GENIUS." A great post! It's interesting as Jazz is IMO one of Queen's least consistent albums, yet Freddie's work was IMO outstanding. All five of his songs, even Mustapha which IMO was the weakest of his five, were superb, while Don't Stop Me Now and Bicycle Race were among the greatest songs of all time. He was an absolute genius, no doubt about it!

yes, Freddie's songwriting on Jazz was very strong. Mustapha is awsome....Jazz is queens least consistent album of the first 8, but it's way better and more consistant than anything after that. Except for maybe Innuendo.

My mistake in contributing to this thread was assuming Skip was musically knowledgeable. My bad. An personally, I've always found male KISS fans to be socially retarded, and pretty juvenile. The term rock and roll is/was euphemism for fucking. KISS, with songs like Lick it Up, weren't clever enough to use anything but base lyrics to attract an audience (which they did), and to me they are like rock's Madonna. Successful in sales and influence, ultimately zero influence historically musically (Rock and roll All Night excepted.) I'd guess most KISS fans are ugly men who never get laid. Just a guess though. :) Skip? Or are you and most KISS fans as handsome and well hung as Paul Stanley is talented? :)
at 0:26 yes that is proof he is the greatest singer ever ...... sure thing my friend... i dont hate kiss at all but here is the man that must stick to his own music.
and to people honestly ... stop arguing about music complexity if you dont even have the time to actually explain to the guy what it means because he does not understand you - it is meaningless to him ... if you dont do the math and show your calculating then you fail the exam.... until you actually explain to him what precisley is more complex in bicycle race than kiss songs, then you are just to blow hot air ....

rush is more complex than both in either way you look to it. not kiss, not queen ever had tracks with a drum part as complex as tom sawyer - and thats not even rush most tricky part. i dont live in the crowd to say "complex is better" okay, i like kiss, queen and rush all to different ways. but as far as complex drums go, rush wear the crown.

Yea, Pert IMO is the best drummer in rock history. Geddy obviously is more complex than Deacon, but i want to see rush pull off what queen did in the middle of the prophet song, or love of my life. Brian is a better play than lifson.
The guy's name is Peart. The other guy's name is Lifeson.

I was in a rush.......kiss still suck. 37 years of brain dead music.

Therefore, "LIve Killers" is a cut and paste job plus recorded overdubs, thus not 100% live.
"Alive" was mostly live from three different shows with any mistakes/out of tune guitars/missed mic recordings being overdubbed in the studio.
If you want to talk about "live" lps that were entirely recorded in the studio see Judas Priest's "Unleashed In The East" (all the vocals were recorded in the studio) and Peter Frampton's "Comes Alive".

I've found all male Queen fans such as yourself to be flaming homosexuals. Freddie really rubbed off on you in a big way.
You speaking about Paul Stanley being "well hung" is all the proof that I need.
You can get back to bending over for your boyfriend now.

Skip, Skip, Skip. When I say "Or are you and most KISS fans as handsome and well hung as Paul Stanley is talented?", that does not mean that I think Paul Stanley is well hung. It means that a) you and most (all) KISS fans 'are probably not handsome or well hung because b) Paul Stanley isn't talented. This isn't a KISS form, we can't explain everything for you, get with the game.

I don't understand the need for homophobia here but whatever floats your boat. What it boils down to is that in every thread that Kiss is mentioned, people (on both sides of the fence) take it way more seriously than they should, and give it excessive thought. Just a band, guys...

unleashed in the east is a great album, Not sure if it's live or not though.
