World Cup 2010

Being Dutch myself, I'm very proud of this team. Van Marwijk has delivered a job well done. Such a small country is able to write history next Sunday. It almost feels as if this team is unbeatable. They are so close now. Revenge against Germany (which we all hope for) would be a suitable final chapter of this fairytale.

For me,the Dutch look as though they are gonna win the World Cup.

Although the Germans have been probably the most entertaining team.

Although the Dutch have deserved to be there as well, I would prefer the Germans to lift the cup. provided of course they win tonight. This is not based upon their 4- 1, officially at least, thrashing of England (thanks for the explanation Joxer)  but they way the have played throughout the tournament.

By the way..... I see Heskey and Rob Green are playing really well for their new teams.... Its only a joke........ :)

This now means that there will be a new team winning the world cup now.Two teams that have never played each other too in the world cup.

I still think that Holland will win though

Spain was the better team, they deserved to win, certainly the best team in the world right now. I root for Holland in the final because I have so many friends in the Netherlands but it will be hard to beat Spain. Either team will be a worthy champion.

I think it's kind of funny that I, hockey head, said a few weeks ago "I'm cheering for Holland!", and they end up in the final.  Seems wrong somehow, like one should have one's soccer heart shattered a few times first.  I've very, very recently connected with a distant relative in the Netherlands after years of searching for any remaining family there, and this soccer business has given us something to talk about, so it's been nice.  Still, I don't yet know if I can stand having a dog in the fight in another major sport. What if I cry or something?

It's not so much that Spain won the game.. Germany lost the game.  Their defense was good, but the midfield was simply non-existent.  I don't think they even managed to feed Klose the ball even once.  They certainly didn't have a single good shot on net, because the Spanish defense was exquisite.

At this point I'll be happy for either Spain or Holland.  Both countries have played the game beautifully and deserve to be where they are.
