I suppose KISS aren't too bad a band on entertainment value alone, but as musicians, they are only mediocre.

what I am saying is, With all the Glam, face paints, Big Shoes, wide shoulders & explosions, they put on a great stage show & all the kids love 'em & I'm not knocking them for that. It worked for Bowie & Glitter in the 70's but as we all know (& Kiss know this themselves, for that matter)  when they  dropped all the glitz & make up in the '80's & tried to be recognized as a serious band, it just did not work!!!!!  their concert  sales started to flop, as did their album sales.  so Quick as a flash, Gene, Paul & co went back to the old face paints & such.  (go with what works!!! they say!!!)

The kids love to go along to the gigs with their faces painted up like their heroes. Buy the dolls from "Toys R Us", buy the comics, ect.

But I ask the question, Is it for Kiss's musical talent, or just for all the glam, that the kids attend their concerts?  I think it's the latter.

KISS = Entertainment 90% + Talent 10%

90+10, Divided by 2  = 50%

50% =  Mediocre band!!!!!!!
Joyful the sound

Skip.

I have a serious question- Were you actually a Queen fan at one time or other?
I'm asking this as you have over 300 posts...unless ALL those posts are just trolling?

Been listening to Queen since the 70s.  They're my second favorite band.

Are you actaully being serious?

Are you actually (that's the correct spelling) this much of an asshole?

No, but it sounds like you got one from Freddie.

When KISS dropped the makeup (1983 through 1995) they sold over 15 million lps and toured the world many times over.

Over 100 million lps sold worldwide.

38 years of success.

Sonic Boom? Haha. KISS can't even get airplay on the radio except "Rock 'N' Roll All Night" or whatever it's called.... even that's sub-par. That's the ONLY song they'll play.

Let me guess, you enjoy smelling their big 'ol brown, hairy, sweaty, steaming, buttholes?

That sounds like Mr. Butts typical Saturday night game plan.

LOL

I have every suspicion that you're going to play "Burn Bitch Burn" at your funeral.  Either that, or you played it at your wedding.

That song sucks, but then again, it's 100 times better than "Hot Space".

I've said it from day one.  If you're not interested in KISS then don't read and don't respond.

Brian May: "I like KISS a lot. I have a great regard for KISS 'cause it's all-out. They just had their vision, they had their dream, and they damn well went for it."
OK Skip, not sure if you're interested, but I'm going to throw you a lifeline here.  I read something on a KISS fan site today, and it was railing about why KISS wasn't in the rock hall of fame (as useless of an honour as that is.)  The person who posted said KISS in their early days were very influential (agreed), sold tons of albums and concert tix (agreed), Ace Frehley influenced lots of rock guitarists (agreed), BUT, their pursuit of money and merchandise sales took them into a category where they became self-parodies who were out for money, and forgot about the music (agreed.)  That's from a pretty passionate, knowledgeable KISS fan BTW.  So, as someone who doesn't know KISS music like you do, can you please give me honest infomration where anyone respectable says that any of the guys ain (original) KISS are good musicians, or respected as anything other than cartoon characters?  Honestly, I admire KISS for doing what they do, and with no malice towards you, their music has not stood the test of time,  They are salesmen, not musicians.  So you can answer saying they've sold X amount of albums and tickets, but in a language you'll understand, the WWRY musical is a money making juggernaut which is arguably the worst piece of Queen's history, ever.  Shit sells.  But even as it does, the rep of all four Queen members as consummate singers/songwriters and musicians is beyond stellar.  If you can show me that any one other than KISS fan boys state that, I'll endure your sophomoric posts on QZ with a little more respect.

Hot Space isn't a song! LOL
