OK Skip, not sure if you're interested, but I'm going to throw you a lifeline here.  I read something on a KISS fan site today, and it was railing about why KISS wasn't in the rock hall of fame (as useless of an honour as that is.)  The person who posted said KISS in their early days were very influential (agreed), sold tons of albums and concert tix (agreed), Ace Frehley influenced lots of rock guitarists (agreed), BUT, their pursuit of money and merchandise sales took them into a category where they became self-parodies who were out for money, and forgot about the music (agreed.)  That's from a pretty passionate, knowledgeable KISS fan BTW.  So, as someone who doesn't know KISS music like you do, can you please give me honest infomration where anyone respectable says that any of the guys ain (original) KISS are good musicians, or respected as anything other than cartoon characters?  Honestly, I admire KISS for doing what they do, and with no malice towards you, their music has not stood the test of time,  They are salesmen, not musicians.  So you can answer saying they've sold X amount of albums and tickets, but in a language you'll understand, the WWRY musical is a money making juggernaut which is arguably the worst piece of Queen's history, ever.  Shit sells.  But even as it does, the rep of all four Queen members as consummate singers/songwriters and musicians is beyond stellar.  If you can show me that any one other than KISS fan boys state that, I'll endure your sophomoric posts on QZ with a little more respect.[/QUOTE]
RE:  music

Go watch KISS "Unplugged".  You'll find your answer there.

RE:  Rock and Roll Hall of Shame

There are reasons that have nothing to do with music being the reason why KISS aren't in there (and quite frankly
I hope they never get inducted; the person who's in charge is nothing but a joke and many of the artists who are in there are a joke).

If their music hadn't stood the test of time then you wouldn't have this ...

RE:  product

Queen sure have a lot of greatest hits cds out there, considering that they only have 15 studio lps.

And I won't even get into this ...

KISS contiue to play in stadiums and arenas around the world.  They bring the whole package to rock and roll.

Swear to God, I'm not being a jerk here for the sake of being a jerk and just taking a dig.  A couple of months ago I did indeed go watch KISS Unplugged on skip's recommendation 'so I could see what they're capable of musically' (skip's words).  They sounded no better and no worse than the guys who used to sit around the campfire and play at our beach parties back in the day, drunk enough to moon passing freight trains.  About three quarters of the way through one 'Unplugged' song or other I wandered off to google "Peter Criss arrested" because I was bored and he looked and sounded like a complete degenerate.  That is a true story.

I learned that Peter doesn't seem to have ever been arrested for anything important and has actually done some courageous things surrounding a rare medical issue for men.  So it wasn't a complete waste of time, but the key to appreciating KISS musically it was not.

KISS is boring. There's nothing interesting about them. The make-up is hideous. Just a bunch of fat men on stage miming to a bunch of pre-recorded so called "live" tracks. A complete comedy act. A parody of themselves. Boring. Boring. Boring.

No makeup,  No outfits.  No bombs.  Just the band playing their music.

You didn't care for it.  No big deal.  That show was MTV's highest rated "Unplugged" show.

BTW, it appears that you have no idea who played on "Unplugged".  Now go google that and learn something.

I could care less about anything Queen did with Paul Rodgers. Wasn't my scene at all.

It's time to put an end to my sarcastic behaviour with this KISS lover.

Why do you go off proclaiming your love for KISS so much? What happened? Did you get banned from their official forum or something? You just seem to be acting like KISS are a bunch of hot women that you want to tap. Is that what gets you going? Does the stupid make-up they use, turn you on? Do you masturbate frequently while watching interviews of members of the band?

I'm serious when I ask this... do you have a fuckin' bone-on over KISS? You must, because you certainly advertise and brag about them all over the place. It reminds me of those teenyboppers discovering Britney Spears back in the 1990s. But you're not good at promotion at all. You're making people hate KISS. Why? 'Cause you're being a complete ASS. Your attitude is representing what die-hard KISS fans are like. You are being an ass to everyone on this forum. The only one allowed to get away with that, is me, haw, haw, haw. I'm sorry, man, but I'm here, just like everyone else on this forum (except you and some young cunts who only get Queen songs from downloading them illegally on file sharing programs) to talk Queen. What the Hell are you doing on Queenzone?

Go drink some Guinness, get drunk, and then come back onto Queenzone and profound your true love for Freddie, Roger, John, and Brian. And maybe a little later on, we can talk about KISS in the personal/off topic section.

Peace off!
