When i last saw him at Knebworth 1986 it seemed to me as though he was going for the notes then more than he was in the 1975 A Night At The Opera tour.

I always wondered why he didn't use his falsetto alot when he was younger--then go ahead 10 years, and he's using it ALOT on the Magic Tour!

that 74 version freddie was doing the perfect falsetto...sounded like the studio record, but what i like about the 86 version is that he does the falsetto and then hits those amazing power notes.  I don't know about the screaming that people bitch about. those are simply operatic power notes he hits, so the 80's edges it out for me

Well funny enough I disliked him singing those words with his normal voice. He is plainly yelling there. I haven't heard much 70s versions, but I did hear the Hammersmith Odeon recording from 1975-12-24 and the Wembley version indeed wins. If all 70s performances from Freddie at this song were like that, the 80s versions would be better indeed (if all of them were equally as great as the Wembley version).

He doesn't always yell the notes in the 80s versions!

I prefer the 70's version from Live at The Rainbow because vocally it sounds more like that era when Freddies Voice was more innocent and pure without being tortured as we all know when he took up  the extreme lifestyle his Voice did Change

However I do like the attempt at the Falsetto in the Wembley Version plus he had to Sell it differently as a Singer on a much more larger scale in that Arena Atmosphere..such a Great Song just wish there was more of it!
