Would this drive you mad, or is it just me?

My upstairs neighbour is playing the same track OVER AND OVER AGAIN. This morning, it started at 11am. It's now  14.38pm.
It's constant, there seems to be no end, it just goes ON AND ON. It's fast dance music. I can't complain to the council because it isn't loud enough statutarily. All I can hear is bang-bang-bang-bang-bang-bang....................in a fast rhythm.

I once said - to no-one in particular - "WHY OH WHY do people do this????????" and the reply was, "because they like the music".

So, dear Queenzone members, would this drive YOU mad, or is it just me? Do any of you do the same? If so, WHY??? I haven't spoken to the neighbour because to do so, in my experience, makes it worse. They then know your weak spot and then know how to drive you madder.

Yes, I agree. Get a cheap kit from your local pawn shop, and some drum sticks, and bang the night away until they've learned their lesson. It's even more epic if you strike a constant uneven pattern ;-)

alternatively, u could LOUDLY sing the same tune, or LOUDLY play it on keyboard (or drums!)  and be just slightly off key, it mite put them off the song.

do a syncopated drumline between the beats played. itll throw off their groove.

or if you cant beat em, join em and play with the music. maybe youll be famous by coming up with something mindless?

or maybe your neighbor ODed :-\

Find out what the song is, then you play it all day, see how your neighbour likes that.

Hey dude, my situation is worse than yours! in an avenue near my street, a lot of people park their cars and turn on the stereos  in a noisy way. And each car play a kind of music. So, let's imagine there are 20 cars parked in the avenue, and each car play a kind of music, and the stereos are very loud, then i can listen all the "musics"  when i'm trying to study for the tests that i have every week!

i belive i can say that my situation is worse than yours!

the other side of the coin is that hearing the music non-stop is a far better proposition than hearing the bloke in the flat below verbally abusing his spouse and daughter all day long which is what is aparantly going on here.
admitidly i can't hear it as i'm too far up in the house but the woman at the front of the house hears it all.
it kinda puts things in perspective doesn't it?

One of my neighbors is shooting a gun at random intervals in the evenings and weekends.  I think it is target practice.  I'm not sure if I have the right to complain or even comment on it.  If we are ever invaded, I'm counting on him defending the neighborhood.

The "music" went on till 8.45pm.
Thank you for comments recieved so far, they were very therapeutic. I have tried playing my music VERY LOUD in the past, but it doesn't work, mainly because I can't stand it for long enough. Yes, I know there are worse things. Anyway, off I go now to buy a drum kit and learn how to do anything by Max Bygraves or Des O'Connor.

Have you got good speakers or headphones? It may help. Not the whole day so...
I don't mind people playing the same song over and over again. It depends on volume. Sometimes I get hooked with some song and do the same. But don't stare at me, I usually use headphones when people are around. :D
Hold on! Don't lose your hope! Earlier or later he'll get bored with it anyway! ;)
