Raised on Radio tracks that are better than anything since Perry left:

*Girl Can't Help It
*Suzanne
*Be Good To Yourself
I'll Be Alright Without You
It Could Have Been You

Trial By Fire tracks that are better than anything since Perry left:
*Message Of Love
Still She Cries  (This is a really, really good track)
Colors Of The Spirit
Trial By Fire
Track 15, the unnamed "hidden" track

*All these songs charted on Billboard.  None of Augeri's did.
*Girl Can't Help It - Pop crap.
*Suzanne - Shite.
*Be Good To Yourself - Pop crap.
I'll Be Alright Without You - Decent song.
It Could Have Been You - Crap.

*Message Of Love - Decent.  Sucky, processed vocals.
Still She Cries  (This is a really, really good track) - Sucks.
Colors Of The Spirit - Sucks.
Trial By Fire - Passable.
Track 15, the unnamed "hidden" track - Crap.

*All these songs charted on Billboard.  None of Augeri's did.

Of course none of the Augeri era songs charted.  Different era.
No radio airplay.  No MTV airplay (MTV no longer played videos).
Classic rock radio only plays the singles from the '70s and '80s.

Steve didn't wreck his voice through drugs/alcohol either (totally false statement there), it was the constant DEMAND on his voice from singing all those ball-busting high notes. When you abuse your voice, you develop vocal nodules. He damaged his voice on the US leg of the Frontiers tour (got nodes), then the abusive singing from 1984-1987 (listen to the ROR bootlegs for the best idea), sealed the deal. His voice did recover (to an extent) for his FTLOSM album and tour during 1994-1995.

Again, abusive singing and overtouring wrecked Steve's voice. Not drugs.

Nope.  Nice try.  Doesn't work that way.  I saw Perry live.  You didn't.  Tough break.

You obviously don't know much about Journey or Steve Perry.  Steve Perry was (still is???) an alcoholic and was a
coke head.  The majority of the band were drunks and coke heads.   Perry also had steroids shot into his vocal chords
due to having nodes.

Over 100 million lps sold world wide.

Add the best stage show in rock to that and you have the best band.

Don't cry.  Sometimes the truth hurts.

Kiss my ass, bitch. Show me PROOF that Steve was/is a cocaine addict and an alcoholic. Until then, I stand by my original post.

And that one comment made NO SENSE: Just because I didn't see the band live, or was alive during their heyday doesn't mean I DON'T know the history of the band or anything! Are you REALLY this stupid, or just being funny?

20 year old whiny ass bitch didn't get to see Journey with Steve Perry in the band.  Sucks to be you.

RE:  alcoholism

Perry's alcoholism was addressed in this magazine:

You also may want to educate yourself on Journey by reading Herbie Herbert's interview found here:

Perry, Schon, and Valory were (still is, in the case of Schon???) coke heads.

Sorry to burst your idol worship of Perry.

Now run along sonny.  It's past your bedtime.

Not gonna put in order, but I'll try to settle for these closer-to-30 bands for fighting on the top 10 spots.

Queen (+solos), Frank Zappa, Björk (+Sugarcubes), Dave Matthews Band, Rush, Genesis (+solos), The Beatles, Suzanne Vega, Radiohead, Blur, The Doors, Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Stevie Wonder, Jamiroquai (with Zender), Tom Waits, Yumi Arai/Matsytoya, Rainbow, Dio, King Crimson, Jitterin' Jinn, Metallica, Alanis Morissette, Led Zeppelin, Devo, The Boomtown Rats, Blue Öyster Cult... -- and I left out the bands and artists that I really dig which are based in this country and the really obscure ones that I have to have a fix of every now and then. My top 5 is kinda constant, though - just read the first five mentioned, and occasionally switch DMB with Blur.
