Headlong better than All Dead?....don't think so son!....listen, i might give the slight edge to innunedo for it's some of my favorite songs, and does have a more mature sound, but let's not get crazy here. headlong is no match for All Dead, and news of the world is more consistent as a whole i think. I don't think headlong, I can't live with you, delilah, and the hitman is as good as anything on NOTW, so i just changed my mind....NOTW it is.

I'm sure most people who voted for Innuendo were simply not alive in 1977. Possibly, they were all born AFTER pitch correction and Pro Tools.
Innuendo is slighly better than Flash Gordon, and that's just because of the first two tracks. The rest of the album is a toss up. Hoop Diddy Diddy? A Gospel-esque song who's lyrics make no sense? Roger's best track uses a drum machine? A guitar solo with added lyrics? Innuendo (the album) is a mess.
How is this even debatable? We can sit here and rag on Rolling Stone for their shitty album reviews, but a few people in this thread could work for Rolling Stone's album review section, obviously.

lol, i think it's close. that's why I made the thread. i remember when Innuendo was released how excited I was. The true Queen returned. The title track, slightly mad, don't try so hard. so many great tunes....but yea, some people overate Innuendo a bit..especially the youngsters. Who in fact wern't born in 1977. no one could understand queen more than the older fans, an example is the kid who said "bring back that leroy brown was filler" the older fans know those were the songs that made Queen special, the youngsters don't understand that....... Anyway, The reason why i lean towards NOTW is because the music is simply better....Freddie's piano....brian distinct guitar sound in the 70's....and most of all the drums. roger was no better than an average drummer in 1991, while he was a truly great one in 1977. The only thing that Innuendo was better at was the lryics.

In my case, the choice had nothing to do with age. I really love 'All Dead All Dead' more than any song on the 'Innuendo' album, but I also hate 'Get Down Make Love' more than 'Delilah', and most of the other tracks on NotW just don't do it for me, as opposed to both 'Races' and 'Jazz'. While I like 'Sheer Heart Attack' (the song) and 'Fight from the Inside', I think 'Days of Our Lives' is way better than both, and while I'm very fond of 'We Are the Champions', I think 'Show Must Go On' is just as good and just as anthemic, and I think they're both masterpieces.

"Days of our Lives" is the only song in Innuendo that I consider remarkable, while I consider WWRY, SHA, ADAD, SYW, WNY and IL to be much better than any other song off Innuendo.
And yet ... I would consider NotW to be only an average Queen album, while I consider Innuendo to only be better than Hot Space, The Cosmos Rocks and Flash Gordon.

"My makeup may be flaking, but my smile still stays on" Ugh, Gag me.
Brian was unsure of the line "My soul is painted like the wings of butterflies", but Freddie pandered to Brian and agreed to sing it.
I much prefer the lyrics of "Was It All Worth it" as I believe it is better as a closing statement on Queen's career than tSMGo.
I also believe that the line "No one stops my party" in Khashoggi's Ship better portrays Freddie's fighting spirit than any line in tSMGo.
TAtDoOL, ICLwY, Breakthru, PISCtP, KPtOW, IttWWC, WNY, SYW, YTMBA, Drowse, TT(LUCT) and DO2L all have much better lyrics than tSMGo ... IMHO
