I don't usually like that style of music, but I think Queen's Melancholy Blues is wonderfully over-the-top. I love it!

I really like the song. It has always been a favorite of mine.I like everything Freddie has written.

I never really liked the studio version, but a live version or the BBC version are OK. Freddie's mispronouciation of "melancholy" on the studio version always rubbed me the wrong way.

I love this song. While it's not one of my absolute favourite songs from NOTW, I do regard it as a truly beautiful *'quiet' song with magnificent vocals from Freddie, as well as some terrific piano.
It's interesting because I've been listening to Curtis Mayfield alot recently, and Mayfield's voice and style was such that one has to listen to him attentively; he couldn't be treated as background music. The same goes for My Melancholy Blues. When I listen to it (which admittedly is not all that much), I need to be fully attentive. Which is probably why I don't listen to it as much as some other NOTW songs; I can't always ensure that I'm able to give the music I'm listening to my full attention.
BTW, while My Melancholy Blues is a wonderful song and a fine album closer, I've often wondered whether We Are The Champions would have been a better album closer.
*a song which doesn't come across to me as a hit and would probably not be known by non-Queen fans
