There's a difference between liking a person's music and liking the life he lead.

At the end of the day Freddie did what he wanted to do and thats all their is to it, we cant change the way he was and i would like to remember him as a fantastic musician rather than people tarring him with stuff

I agree it was Freddies bussiness and his life. I admit I was shocked when I first heard Freddie did do coke. but most rock stars back then did drugs & coke and besides it was his choice. Was he really an alchololic did he just enjoy a drink?
You do realise they did'nt know much about AIDS at all back then either? Which is why so many ignorant people thought only homosexuals could have it. Yes it was the death of Freddie but he did'nt realise the real dangers until he had it. It annoys me when ignorant people can't see past his sexuality ,I find that rather sad.

I still admire him. Hes a LEGEND & I'm going to remember Freddie for his music :)

Personal life means personal for a reason.

Oh & once again I see this has turned into another argument amonst yourselfs.

this is a horrible inane thing to find on this site. ordinarily, i expect to find this type of  adolescent " was he or was'nt he?" bullshit on one of the psycho sites, but to find it on  Queenzone, makes my blood boil. it's a pathetic topic and should never have been considered for this site. i could'nt care less who you are or why you think you   have the right to post this kind of crap,  freddie was the man, the biggest rock legend of them all and always will be, despite the crap that you want to concentrate on.

Vodka was a long term favourite of Freddie's according to what Jim Hutton once told me.

Oh stop it.  This kind of  breathless rant is silly.  If you've got a problem reconciling the entire man with the musical greatness and the accomplishments as a performer and human being that's your issue.  These kinds of facts about notable people are recorded, and - gasp - sometimes discussed -  as a matter of course in sources anywhere from the internet to serious biographical works.  If you find this information gossipy or expressed in a way that leaves it with little value you're free not to participate in the discussion in the same way that I and everybody else sometimes elect not to.

children on this site really .....  "straight people can get it too" too sure but back then the risks were higher for the gays, its just how it is in the statistics.  it took a while for even the bisexuals to spread it to the straight people and for bad blood transfusons.  don't people even argue with me because you haven't read as much as i have on the topic....

mary did not have aids.  if freddie would just to stay with her, he would not catch it.  that is so simple ...  losers, are you suggest she magically catch aids and freddie still die if that had happened and they had stayed together?

I agree. Who are we to judge him?

You really are an idiot.

Do us all a favor.  Only have sex with yourself.  Ignorant people like yourself cause

how is this idiocy?????? it is simple to me - if he only had sex with someone who did never have AIDS (unless you have to me some information that Mary has aids, she does not as far as i know) then would he catch the HIV?

i never said to him that he was a bad man or did the 'wrong' thing, ijust wish for musical reasons he hadn't caught AIDS .... how to be an idiot? I only want freddie to live longer.  :(

Freddie Mercury was a heavy drinker (alcoholic?), heavy drug user (addict?), and had a sexual addiction.

He was gay.  He trolled for sexual partners while under the influence of alcohol and drugs.  He didn't
know many of his sexual partners.  He didn't care to know most of his sexual partners.

He had no sexual interest in Mary.  That's the way homosexuality works.

Nobody wanted Freddie to get AIDS.  The blame is squarely on Freddie.  His actions got him into
trouble.  And he f*cked over his band mates and his fans in the process.
