Wait a moment - are we talking about THREE DIFFERENT versions of SSOR, or is one of them a repeat of some older version ?

Also KQ - is it all the same video ? Because you write "rpt" only in some cases

There are three seperate performances filmed on three seperate occasions for SSOR on TOTP and there are two seperate performances for KQ on TOTP.
This has always been known, but apart from the KQ footage with FM in his fur coat, the other four performances have never seen the light of day on any official releases, and some only on bootleg recordings.

Thanks for the info. I have always had only 2 performances of Seven Seas Of Rhye, both a hybrid black & white / color version, one without audience and the other WITH audience so that's quite new for me.

Just did a copy and paste tbh, link provided above. The guys in this site really know their TOTP.

Reading the surviving episode list here http://s9.zetaboards.com/olcote/topic/7133363/1/ confirms that the first surviving full episode with Queen is from Christmas 1974, Killer Queen, a repeat of the 11/Oct performance.

Not too sure why the first performance of KQ in October is listed as a repeat, and to add to the confusion Queen are credited with a TOTP appearance on 21 September 1974 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0730316/ which does not appear anywhere else. I'm guessing that's just an error seen as TOTP was on 20 September without a Queen performance.
Arse.

Just wanted to add that there is a slightly different cut of the Killer Queen performance that has been shown on TOTP's 2. This is alomost exactly the same as the released version on Greatest Flix / Videos Hits 1 but there are a few different camera angles.

As I posted earlier, the 3rd version of SSOR features a cameo apperance by DLT as a cleaner. All 3 versions are available in colour but the DLT version is rarer than dinosaur poo!

I know I will sound greedy, but is there any chance to GET the full colour versions of at least the 2 performances  ? I think the BBC would be grateful too :-)

Yes, but the 2VHS edition of Greatest Flix 1+2 had the TOTP version as a bonus

I think, these are the topics the Queenzoners want. To discuss with the profs like GT, Strange Frontier, Miklos,Marknow and Pittrek etc. about certain unclearified videos and audio concerts. When people work together on a friendly and open level, miracles can happen.

Love it!

Someome mentioned guitar chords, the first 2 pics don't really show much but the bands body language and the fact that Brian is playing a very high note seems to match Killer Queen to me.

The second performance seems to be clearly a B chord, Now I'm Here has a B chord but I don't beleive Killer Queen or Bo Rhap do.

Good detective work there, Luke.  In the third pic John is playing a B too, so my vote goes for Now I'm Here as well.  Question is - where's the footage?  Taped over?  Discarded?
