I also don't see why you wouldn't want to try prayer since you have nothing to lose.
You also have nothing to lose by meditating to become one with the Dao, but as a Christian you'd probably be a bit put off if someone tried to tell you to do something that you didn't believe in.
im not a christian (if ur talkin to me) and ive tryed meditation, and i wasnt totaly put off, but i wasnt realy thinking about any kind of god, the only god i was thinking about was Queen ;)
so OMFG i am religious but i never realised it! :O QUEENISM!!! :D

I read of some experiment and the ppl who were allowed to swear freely could hold their hand iin ice water for longer then those who werent allowed to swear. On the other hand, some ppl do find it offensive, and a habit of swearing potentially wont do u any favours in life -- its too easy to let it slip in front of the wrong person and lose job opportunities or general respect by swearing in a situation where it is not appropriate. But just my thoughts...

Bullshit to that. "Swearing in front of the wrong person?" I understand why that's a point of anxiety for some people, but to Hell with it. If you're not a swearing kind of person by nature, fine, don't swear. If you think you're going to upset someone by swearing, then be decent - hold it in for once. But I really, really don't believe in going to extraordinary lengths to modify one's self for the wrong reasons. Bending over to outdated concepts is definitely the wrong reason.
