There's no Golders Green Hippodrome/BBC sessions material here, because I think this material needs to be released in separate 'BBC Sessions/In Concert' project.

answer to CMI: Foolish hope, you know. Yet not known whether the released so-called back catalog for the newly remastered studio albums. One thing to say that the release, but there is only a marketing ploy to interest the fans. If consider how many years promise to release, but not officially released tracks, which have long be freely downloaded from the Internet. It would be cool if released a concert DVD, I mean those that are not officially released.

2 all: It's not foolish hope or something. I simply imagined the best way to represent the back catalogue from my point of view. Also the aim is to collect all known material from each album period in one place.

There is no reason on earth to add DVDs to any of these re-issues.
Let's have the audio on audio releases - the Universal Deluxe programme more than ably caters for this.
Let's have the DVDs released as DVDs with packaging that compliments the existing EMI releases and available in the DVD section of any music retailer.
Those who don't want DVDs shouldn't have to have them if they ONLY want the audio.

I can see where you're coming from Benn, but I think times have changed, and many deluxe edition CD's now come with DVD's It's added value and some of the stuff that CMI proposes might not be suited to a proper one off release....ie there simply might not be enough material or be of high enough quality to warrant a full length DVD. The promos for the tunes from Queen 1 would make a nice compliment to the regular album and other bonus tracks mentioned.
Still, I could see just including the promos, and any int. footage, or tv appearences, but the longer concerts should get their own proper release. A DVD two-fer of Rainbow and Hammersmith Odeon + bonuses would be nice. Ahhh to dream....

With the music industry in total shambles, record labels will try and add as much added value content to CDs as they can to help improve sales. I have no problem with this. There are some live concerts that Queen Productions simply don't think is up to snuff video/audio wise so a stand alone release for them is highly questionable but if they are viewed as simply "bonus content" then they might be more likely to give the go ahead for them to be released.

You're absolutely right, of course, but it kind of ruins the excitement of having *music* available to buy again when you're forced to have something as bonus content but which is is a completely different format.
Let's face it, how much time do we all REALLY have to sit and watch music DVDs? I managed to get the wife to allow me to watch the first part of one of the DVDs included in Springsteens "Darkness" box set last night and that eeked out to a hour before she'd had enough of me spending that time.
Audio though - absolutely no problem giving ANYTHING multiple rotations at the volume I choose in the car.

It's all personal and subjective in terms of choice, of course, but my preference is to keep audio and video material separate in the same way as it is to keep live and studio audio recordings separate.

I totally agree with Kamenliter's point of view. I think Bonus DVD is a great opportunity to collect all related to the album video stuff in one place, such as promos, interviews, specials, live snippets and etc...
And I'll be more pleased to see such major concerts as Rainbow (March/November 1974), Hammersmith 1975, Hyde Park 1976...etc. as separate DVD releases than to receive them as bonus content. But I don't think that if QP ever release Marquee/Rainbow stuff, it will be separate audio or video release. It's most likely will be a bonus stuff or Live Box component.
2 Benn: Check out the latest Paul McCartney & Wings' Band On The Run reissue by Universal.
It has 3 options to buy: 1CD (album itself) 2CD+1DVD (album cd+bonus stuff cd and dvd with related video stuff) 3CD+1DVD (same as above + audio documentary CD with hard cover large book)
So the Queen reissues also can be released with 2-3 different options for each album.

More to do with the fact that I haven't got a decent 5:1 system, and can't really be bothered to get one, to be honest.
Also, just to point out that all 3 of the Abba Deluxe reissues, apart from the usual b-sides on Disc 1, are coupled with a DVD for the bonus disc. No extra audios at all. I suspect this will be the case for the Queen ones, from Queen II onwards.
Queen I may not even be a "deluxe" (i.e. 2-disc) set. When the 7 Moody Blues albums were tackled, only 3 of them were doubles, with the rest featuring any bonus material on the same disc as the original album.

2 brian wig: Of course 5.1 versions of albums are much appreciated. But it seems DVD-A and SACD today are not much promising formats. I think all multichannel stuff to be released on blu-rays in the future. And it possibly will be a separate project. But it's great to receive adiitional disk in the set with 5.1 new mix.
