I like the drums, but Roger always criticised them

The drums on Queen1 are not that well recorded. They get 'lost' in the final mix.
Just listen to Jesus(acetate version) or KYA(retake) these drums are soooooo much better!

But no.. That's not why they are booked in the Trident studio.
Trident studios these days is primarily used for post-production, mixing, mastering and most of all... recording DVD commentary!!!! So it's likely to be commentary for a DVD release. However going 'back to the studio' to explore those early masters recorded at Trident would be the better option!

I just read that Paul McCartney had booked the Trident studios for a long period of time in the early seventies.
Giving Queen the chance to work in those down-time hours when Paul was not there... never knew McCartney had anything to do with it!

How I wish that this meant there would be a GVH3 DVD on the way.  At this point I don't even care if it has all the stuff that should never have been done (the Made in Heaven films, Wyclif Jean, etc etc) because I can just skip that crap.

A mate of mine works as a tour guide in London. While doing a pop/rock tour he says that said member of staff at De Lane Lea  said that Queen would be working at the studio in a couple of weeks time (so that would be about now). Not being a Queen fan he didn't ask any more questions. I'm on his case to try to get more info. ==============================================

I think he just went back to pick up some hair curlers he left there in 1972.
