What a terrible list that is? Just terrible!

I think Axl will be only no 1 in the following poll: Greatest singer of Guns N Roses?!

I've seen some retarded lists in my time, but this one takes the cake.  In what world is Axl Rose a better singer than Ronnie James Dio?  I don't think even Axl Rose thinks that, and he loves himself more than I love lasagne.

Hell, he's not even the best singer in his own band.  How can he be the best of all time?

I love Axl. I think he's an absolute freak, and one of the greatest singers of all time, and I am stunned at the lack of respect many people on this site have for him. He's a truly brilliant singer. However I don't think he deserves to be number 1. While I do think he is better than many of the singers on this list, I don't think he is as good as someone like Freddie; but then nobody on this list are IMO as good as Freddie. :D I also probably wouldn't put him in the top 2 or 3. I don't know how I would place him, but I do think he is better than most of the singers on this list. I probably would place him just outside the top 5.

I also think that Paul is a better singer than John, but I realise that I'm clearly in a minority since most lists rank John above Paul.

*shrug*  I dunno, respect is earned.  He lost a lot by mangling WWRY at the Freddie tribute - I still can't figure out what they were thinking by giving him that song.  Surely someone heard it in rehearsals and thought "let's not do this - this is a bad idea".

I assumed, after hearing him at the Freddie gig, that maybe he'd be better in his own idiom, but really I haven't heard anything good from him since then.  I think right at the end of the 80's, he did a couple of numbers that earned him a spot as a memorable vocalist, but whatever he had back then, he lost pretty quickly.

Interesting, I actually think Axl was one of the very few who managed to pull it of on the tribute concert. In Freddie's absence he was the singer of the day. Yes, his voice could be rough but so was Freddie's from time to time. Both have/had a unique voice but  Freddie was more versatile.

I don't think he was that bad. Although to be fair, apart from George Michael with STL, there weren't that many brilliant performances.

You should listen to the Chinese Democracy album. I'm actually of the view that hehas gotten better as he's aged. He was terrific on AFD, although my favourite part (the guitar solo on Sweet Child) was by Slash, but IMO his best performances have been on songs such as Civil War and on the Chinese Democracy album. He has a brilliant and distinct use of phrasing, and it's superbly illustrated in songs such as Civil War and the new album.

Agreed. :D Although I don't think it's such an insult to say that Freddie was more versatile since he was one of the most versatile singers of all time! :D :D :D

There's no David Bowie in the top list, so I don't take seriously this kind of lists :)

"Axl Rose has been voted the greatest lead singer of all time by readers of MusicRadar, ahead of Freddy Mercury, Robert Plant, Ronnie James Dio, John Lennon and Bruce Dickinson."

So Axel made it ahead of Freddy, Bob Plant, Ronnie Jim, Johnny Lennon, and Bruce Dixon.  Good for him.  Loved the 'fashionably late' comment.  To me, what an axel.  Too drugged up or paranoid to show up on stage at appointed times or at all.  Just kinda sad that this poll was considered 'news'.

I agree there's no way Axl should be #1.  It should have either been Freddie or Robert Plant, IMO.

Where was Alice Cooper?

On stage, changing the lead singer spotlight, giving fans a show every night, unlike mr. paranoid.

Ozzy?  Peter Wolf?  David Lee Roth?  Sammy?

Jim Morrison #11.........wtf..............2A or 2B with Alice (Freddie #1)

As to vocals, Steve Perry, Dennis DeYoung, Geoff Tate, Kevin Cronin........

Hell...........Art Garfunkel and Harry Chapin were terrific in concert as front men.  Not exciting, but frickin memorable.

Are you kidding?
Axl massacred Bo Rhap and WWRY.
Christ, Dee Snider is a far superior singer and much better frontman for a band (Twisted Sister)
