What do you think? IMHO this is right. The Miracle has more depth, although it has never played live so when don't know how it could have worked TM it's just in another quality level. Don't get me wrong., AKOM is a great album but TM gains many factors top it.
. Freddie's Voice is much improved from previous albums . Rest was the key to regain creativity again. Queen finally came back to release the creativity and not just make songs in order to sell records. And that shows in the variety of sounds and style. .Back to continous songs .Getting away from Pop, getting back to Rock (not entirely though)
Maybe my arguments are weak but listening overall both albums, it just leaves with that feeling. What do you think?

Yeah, The Miracle shows a Queen going back partially to his origin: Rock Is the best album in terms of sound quality Was more well produced than AKOM Is more dense than AKOM

Continuous tracks - agreed. Back to rock- agreed. Creativity - agreed. Freddie in fine voice - agreed.
However, I still prefer AKOM over The Miracle. IMHO, although Khashoggi's Ship and Party were supposed to be funny, witty and subtlty about the band, I just plain don't like them. Can't stand My Baby Does Me either. The Miracle, I Want It All, Breakthru, Scandal and Was It All Worth It are all great tracks AFAIC, but even the Invisible Man is hit or miss. Generally I'd rather miss. So half an album does not maketh an album!
There's not a track on AKOM I wouldn't not want to listen to.

I definitely disagree. In my opinion, AKOM is a way better album than the Miracle. To me, the Miracle is filled with lots of crap that seem to be just space fillers around the great songs on the album. It seems like most of Queen's worst songs come off of that album like Party, The Invisible Man, Rain Must Fail, and Chinese Torture. However, there are still great songs on that album like The Miracle, I Want It All, Breakthru, Scandal, and Was it All Worth it. The rest of the songs are somewhat ok but as a whole, this album is WAY below the Queen standards. AKOM was not one of their better albums but as far as the songs, they are way better and there's not as much crap on that album.
As far as the performances, I think they are both tied as Freddie sounds amazing on both, in different ways.

I agree AKOM is an overall good album, and that's surprising its a hodgpodge of songs for Highlander and some other songs they added around them. I'm sorry though "Pain Is So Close To Pleasure" is not a good song so therefore I wouldn't say every single track on AKOM is one I would want to hear. Way too much falsetto for my liking.....

AKOM always sounded to me just like a collection of archive songs plus film songs plus some singles, while the Miracle sounded more like an album, where the songs are from the same moment of time.
I do not like to rate things but somehow I notice, that both albums do not find their way into my player very often.

Both are towards the bottom of my favorites list, but A Kind Of magic is a little better for me. Even Non Queenfans like the highlander songs. Yea, Magic sounds somehow Incomplete but still the songs are better. As the list shows Magic wins 6 songs to 4 in my book. The only reason it's close is because the bonus songs on the miracle are slightly better, though i love "forever" as a piano ballad. Also, i think One year of love and The miracle could have gone either way. one year of love is simply a underated ballad, but the miracle edged it out because musically it's brilliant.
One Vision > Party
A Kind Of Magic > KHASHOGGI'S SHIP
One year of love < The Miracle
Pain And Pleasure < I Want It All
Friends will be friends > Invisible Man
Who Wants to live forever > Breakthru
Gimme The Prize > Rain must fall
Don't lose your head < Scandal
Princes Of the universe > My Baby does me
Forever < Was it all worth it/Hang on in there

Put the two albums together and their best songs still don't add up to one good album. Queen were a bit pants in the 1980s. Compare this line-up to any of the 1970s albums and the 70s win hands down every time.
One Vision A Kind Of Magic The Miracle I Want It All Invisible Man Who Wants to live forever Breakthru Gimme The Prize Scandal Princes of the Universe
ps the next person to spell Princes of the Universe 'Princess' of the Universe gets a kicking :)

Well it would be great if they would release one album with similar track list
1. Princess of the Universe (with Sean Connery intro) 2. Gimme The Prize 3. I Want It All 4. Breakthru 5. One Year Of Love (extended version) 6. The Invisible Man 7. Who Wants To Live Forever 8. A Kind Of Magic 9. Scandal 10. Was It All Worth It 11. The Miracle 12. One Vision

Never forget that around "The Miracle" they already knew what would happen. "Was it all worth it" always seemed to me like some kind of final statement - as this could have been their last album.
And to this day it's a real "Miracle" to me how they could come up with a strong album like "Innuendo" after this.

Innuendo was the real miracle.......

Well, i think that The Miracle feels more like an proper album, while AKOM looks like a compilation of the work that the band was doing during the year of its release. It sounds more compact and with "conceptual continuity" than A Kind Of Magic.

The Miracle is the better album...but not by much...INNUENDO slays both of them, though.

I much prefer The Miracle. AKOM is my least favourite Queen studio album. it's not a bad album by any means, and it does have a couple of terrific songs, however I find it relatively non-creative. For me, Queen's weakest era was 1984-'86 when it didn't seem to me that they were challenging themselves as much as they used to. The Miracle seemed to me to be riskier, bolder as well as containing more good quality songs, and I think it's a very underrated album.

I do think that the two albums did produce several terrific songs, but certainly, they don't compare with Queen's best from the 70's.

Princess of the Universe. :p :D

I can't get into Innuendo. I've tried, but it's far too cold for my liking.
