Yeah, well, see, Mr. Aids, you could have just said nothing and nobody would have thought the less of you for it. But you had to say something so infantile and so not funny, you ruined all that. I pity you. ---

The best albums are from Queen debut to Hot Space. Queen was with Hot Space at the height of her career. They also were live on hot space tour best of all. I have seen liveconcerts from Game to Magic in Germany. I am a queen fan since 1976. Works, Kind Of Magic, Miracle are only products for the mass. The worst album ever is The Miracle. sorry for my bad english ;-)

Some fans will want to shoot me for this, but the worst studio album is The Game hands down. Look at the songs.
Play the Game - Excellent
Good song, Freddie towers on vocal, the synths are a nice addition to Brian's fab playing. For the first ever Queen song of the 80s and first track to use a syntheiser, its got the rich seventies harmonies sound we all adore. The drums are great, especially during the harmony sections.
Dragon Attack - Meh...
Bit of horse poo really. A lame funk-rock groove that you can't dance to or put devil horns up for. John does good bass fills, and Freddie just manages vocal (just!) but the other bits of the track have gone out to dinner. Brian's axe-playing has hit rock bottom - the solo is plain awful. Not really much to be said, I'd just grumble.
AOBTD - Masterpiece
Most kickass bassline ever, sweeping vocals from Freddie, and general awesomeness all around. Believe it or not, all the swirly noises were done by reversed guitars, not synths. The break is something you can't not boogie to. Brian couldn't do dance material, being a rocker at heart (see the previous bit of horse poo), but John was the disco king, and this proves it. And speaking of Brian, the short solo at the end has him climbing back up. Long story short - all hail Deaky!
Need Your Loving Tonight - Good
John does another song but it goes down a Beatle-type road. A simple rocker. All the band are back on good form, but it doesn't have me jumping. It's puts me more in a 'still-rockin'-but-I-feel-a-bit-breezy' mood, which is understandable, because I'm still recovering from the soul shaker that is Bites the Dust. Brian's nearly back to ethereal, but needs to tune up the solo. To be honest, looking underneath the Beatle vibe, I see a fifties-sixties pulse. A good-ish song all in all.
CLTCL - Excellent
The perfect rockabilly shrine. Brian's back to the blast we love. Freddie goes ultimate camp on the vocal - not a bad thing at all! Roger makes you shake with the drums. Another steller break, and John grooves up a good bassline. A definite rescue and the last sure-fire scorcher on the album.
Rock It (Prime Jive) - Meh...
Roger's pre-84 compositions haven't been known to stand as real impressive ones to me (bar I'm In Love With My Car) and its a similiar story here. The lyrics typically tell you its a standard Roger rock-rebellion thing, but the slow-tempo intro goes on too long. By the time the rock portion comes around, I'm a little disappointed. A mid-tempo pulse from the drums and guitar keep it going, but its real filler truth be told.
Don't Try Suicide - Impressive
This one gets put down a lot, but I think its a pointer towards the horizon on a landscape that never looked bleaker. Awesome bassline from John, the handclaps are brill, and Roger whacks the hell of the drums. The guitar's all right, and the backing vocals are good and fluid. Freddie towers of course. Brian's back in fighting force. I wish this song would get some of the recognition it deserves. The bassy coda is the perfect close.
Sail Away Sweet Sister - Meh...
Brian was always good at ballads (Teo Torriatte, Who Wants Live Forever, etc.) and this just stands up to that. Lots of emotion in vocal and guitar, but it has a more filler atmosphere. Pleasurable solo, but the melancholy mood dampens the enjoyment.
Coming Soon - Meh...
Roger tries his hand at early new wave. It's a more a 'need to take a breather' song, and the instrumentation is simple. The repeated guitar lick gets a little irritating after the while, and it needs a bit little longer. Just bearable solo, but still...
Save Me - Utter turd of the highest order
Why did Brian write this? This is a definite splotch on his rep as ballad king. Dreary, retched and depressing in every way. No more needs to be said. Why praise an obivous turd of song? (NB: My complaints about Save Me could fill two to three pages..)

Wow.
I agree with your comments about "Play The Game"(my favorite song on the album) and "Another One Bites The Dust". But calling "Sail Away Sweet Sister" FILLER and "Save Me" a TURD leaves me speechless.
BTW...the intro to "Rock It" is a GREAT Queen moment, imo.
But it's cool...we all love this band...THAT'S what matters.

Anyone who writes that about "Save Me," can't be taken seriously.

Hey br5946, if you're not busy this weekend why don't we never get together and hang out and listen to music? ;)

br5946, you are entitled to your opinion, however I very much disagree. I love the first side of The Game, I don't think there is a single song on it that is ordinary.
The second side is a different story. I think it's one of Queen's weakest sides, redeemed entirely by SASS and Save Me! I love those two songs, and I think The Game is a magnificent album. :D
