I thought this might have been done before, but I've checked and the last time was ages ago, so lots of room for "new" additions.

What do you reckon are the best and worst horror films? I''ve been asked this several times and I can't come up with a "best", I just love the genre.  Among them, however:

Exorcist
Omen
Nightmare On Elm St (I still find the original scary!)
Phantasm (yes, all 4 - got anything to say about it?????.....)
Saw
Most Stephen King films
White Noise
.....and even Wishmaster!!!

Oh, and all the original Universal Masters, like Frankenstein, Dracula, Mummy etc.

As for the worst?  Easy - tie between Quarantine (REC was far superior) and Pandorum.

Season of the Witch, Paranormal Activity and Fourth Kind where also very disappointing

Your thoughts?

In my opinion the worst horror film is a tie between

Open Water (80 minutes of nothing happening) and Friday The 13th part 3 in 3D (great effects for the time - the 80's - absolutely no story and about as scary as Sesame Street)
"Normally i can't dance to save my life. But as soon as I step in dog shit, I can moonwalk better than Michael Jackson."
