Thanks for that Thistleboy...very thoughtful of you to offer. I'm assuming I can just not bother anybody and order them somehow, but if that turns out not to be the case I'll definitely take you up on that. :)
Wow, it looks as though you can definitely relive that childhood now lol. If you run them out of stock, you can always fall back on that offer!

I ordered two boxes of five Curly Wurlys yesterday, along with one 37g bag of Tayto Cheese and Onion Crisps for the hell of it. If the chips are not good I'll attempt to extract $1.19 CAD plus some unspecified portion of shipping and taxes worth of Queenzone entertainment out of Holly in compensation.
Life is so funny the way it pings us around. Early last fall I lost a favourite silver heart drop earring. Since then, any time I'm anywhere near jewelery displays I look for new ones that I like as well, and in all these months since I've been disappointed. So I'm on this....domestic British/Irish chocolate bar site....in pursuit of a lost treat of kidhood, and what do I find but the perfect silver heart drop earrings. So I bought them too. I've often wished we'd could have just a brief flash of foreknowledge sometimes in life to fully appreciate serendipity, like the first moment you have contact with the person who will be your husband or wife or partner or whatever for example, or the very first steps in some fork in the road . It would have been fun to know just for a moment when I was disappointed about losing my earring something like "Oh don't worry, you're going to find some Wig Wags in a few months and the earrings will be there too, just just knock around for 16 or 18 weeks or so and it will all work out".
Anyway, I can't wait for my Curly Wurlys!! I want them!

Donna13 wrote: Regarding the original question, I think that from my point of view, the British have given the following to society (this is not in any particular order):
The Beatles
Mary Poppins
The Royal Family
Queen
The 1960's and beyond - fashion, hair and makeup, pop music, great singers and do-it-all type talent
Attitude and standards (moral authority, the bravery of the average person, charity, and stiff upper lip)
Traditions that stay as traditions
Jolly Good, Pip Pip Cheerio, Spot of Tea, Tea Time, Tea and Crumpets, Ta Ta
Politeness
Mick Jagger / Rolling Stones
Fox Hunting (oh, wait .. not that)
Eastenders, Doc Martin, As Time Goes By, and other really good and creative and original TV shows
Great actors
Great costume drama / period films
James Bond to Sherlock Holmes (great characters)
Jane Austen and other great writers
Gardening ideas
Wit
Some funny Queenzoners, too =============================
Thought I might interrupt the somewhat self absorbed rambling about chocolate bars to say that this was a great 'serious' reply. British culture really and truly is seminal to life as so many of us an ocean away know it. So yay Brits! And thanks for this Donna. :)

Once you go Tayto you never go back.
Aside from my family, the Kitchen Bar, and great nights at Windsor Park watching Northern Ireland humble the likes of West Germany, Spain and England, Tayto Cheese and Onion crisps is the only thing I miss about Northern Ireland.

we invented, then taught, the World how to play every single sport and then we preceded to let you win every game ever since. we also happen to of given the world the United Kingdom of America [or UKA],sssh, dont tell them but they think they got Independence from us 200 years ago and our wonderful colonies of New Zaustralia and without them we would all of died of thirst due to a lack of bar staff years ago.. then there's the sub-continent of Indistan who's teachings by us over the last 200 years has meant that they have finally learnt the art of tea and curry serving, without which the city of Birmingham would of starved over the last 40 years. we [the Cornish] have built every civilization over the last 200 years and is why you will always find somewhere called Falmouth in every state or country you visit and finally,we gave you all the humble pasty and scrumpy combo the staple diet of any proper Cornishman since before the times of the UKA's inhabitants were killing buffalo's
we also gave the world a sense of humour,so lets see who's countries inhabitants understand it.. ;-D

The British taught the natives in India that the useless colourful stones were actually crown jewels :-)

Very prudent of you to neglect Canada Joxer. We have fighter jets that can almost reach Cornwall now.
