Queenzone reunited

I've been checking QZ since 1999, although only joined up a couple of years ago (well, not strictly true, but there was a gap of a couple of years, and when I came back I had forgotten my old username and password etc).  Anyway, I remember all those names and several of the conversations too lol (and now I think of it, my name may have been Gizzymomo?  I know I used that on the old QFC chatroom...).

Hey, people. Cindy mentioned this thread to me on facebook, so I'm checkin' in. ;-) I haven't been here in a while, but if there is anything noteworthy Pieter will mention it to me. We will have been married 10 years in Sept., which makes me feel old. ;-P

How old was the 'zone before the megacrash in july 2001? I had about 2500 posts by then I think. Too bad there's no data left from that time :(

Oh! Did you know him persoanlly? what happened? May his soul rest in peace.

It was a bizarre gardening accident, I believe.

He died from a very aggressive form of cancer within a few months. His wife posted about ot over at trader's den. He was a member of many musical forums and communities, not just Queen.

Great to see you're still around DJ. Next time you're over, drop me line and we'll go for a beer. Just don't expect me to go climbing up Arthur's Seat with you. It was weird seeing the old format of the message board in that link and there was even an old post of mine with the title "confessions of a tosser" but I couldn't get it to open. Can't remember what that was about but no doubt it was some chemically induced bollocks.

I've remembered a few more names to add to the list. Mexqueen and Freddie B who were both wonderful blokes and Tigerlily who was one of the first people to welcome the Queenrockers to Queenzone.

It's funny how we remember those things isn't it.  I still remember Sir GH kind of being the first person to say some thing nice and welcome-like to me when I joined.  It can be important to people, and I should make a point of doing it more often.

It's interesting that you keep in touch with FreddieVTB. He and I never got along but I suppose we're both a little more grown up these days and I certainly don't want to dig up old bones.
If you do still keep in touch with some of the old-timers it'd be nice if you asked them to stop by and say hello again.

Ahhh Chuffy! She was such a darling!
I remember she played bass and we used to talk about it a lot!

I really miss those times, there weren't so many users back then, but at least I knew everybody. Now I see so many people who just post 5 times (most of the time, just to troll) and never to be seen again.

And what about Molly (MaryAustin) she was such a sweetheart!

I wonder what happenened to all these people, what are they doing now... We need them back! :'(

I can't remember when I joined, I know I've been here for quite a while when 'The Incident' happened. I first joined Queenrocker and after that I went to Queenzone, like many of us oldies.. I think I was around 13 when I joined Queenrocker...

So that's 12 years ago...
