About Freddie VTB - I remember quite well that he came across as a bit odd in the Fan Club chat room and here on the notice board. In real life he is a very normal friendly, polite and very likeable person. I met him various times on the Dutch and German conventions and on the 2005 QPR tour. It is very easy to look like a fool on the internet and once you have that label in a community, it is hard to get rid of it. But the Queen community does exist outside the notice board and you can make lots of friends if you are only open minded enough to speak to people with no prejudice.

People also do grow up. Inu-Liger was mentioned earlier and I have to say that he was only 13/14 years old when he had his fights with Chad on the news board. Now he is a very sensitive grown up person and has nothing to do with his old QZ alter ego. In a way I am very proud that both fatty and Inu are still around on this notice board. We are like a big dysfunctional family where people stick together by relation and not because they made friends :-) This thread is like grandfather's 80th b-day where all the old embarrassing childhood stories are brought up by mom and there is no escape:-) There will always be jokes about the Edmonton Queen convention ....  oops, I mentioned it ... sorry Richard ;-)

Hey! The Edmonton Convention was a great idea! It was the only place where you could hear Brian and Roger playing the Pokemon themesong!

Isn't Freddie VTB a swinger nowadays?

I've been on QZ since 2004. Does anyone remember the scandal concerning the Houston audio share? Or the Buffalo 1978 share? God, I was involved in this, together with Dennis (I believe his nick was Lord of Darkness). Epic times.

I'm looking forward to seeing a couple of former Zoners in July at Breakthru. :-)  Of course, Iron Eagle will be there, and I think Brandon will be, as well. It's been a long time since I've done anything Queen related!

I'm sure I'll run into Corson at a concert one of these days. Hopefully, a FOO concert this summer! ;-)

Oh GOD, you just *had* to bring up the Edmonton Convention didn't you, silly people ;-P

I have to admit, I don't know what the fuck I was smoking back then (which would be ironic since I've never smoked once in my life!), but I sure had a lot of arrogant fucked-up ideas. 5.1 MIDI's anyone?? (I actually did piss off Brian with that one!)

Speaking of conventions, I think an appearance at Breakthri by moi is long overdue....no promises though! ;-)

Well fuck me, TALK about good timing...Half an hour after I wrote that last post, I got an invite from a couple fellow Queenzoners to come play for their band's show at Breakthru!
Looks like I will be going after all, muahahaha! >:-D

I wish my memory was a little better, but if anyone knows what the hell I'm talking about, please say!  Back on the old QFC chat room, I used to be quite friendly with two gals from Oz, Teresa and Ali (a mother and daughter) and a Belgian guy whose name escapes me but for some reason "mario" keeps springing to mind.  It was back in the  day where we really were a family, and adopted folk as mums, dads, aunties, uncles and so on. Any of them here?  Or do you know what I'm talking about? I was also quite chatty with Poison Ivy, who I'm sure passed away around a decade ago.  She was my "auntie" lol.  Great days, but I just wish I could remember in detail.

Oh, I remember the Houston audio share. The whole economic system of the QZ traders (value associated with bootlegs) collapsed. It was amazing. Then those guys actually made up and became friends again in the chat room. Epic times indeed.

I'm not here very often, but I do check in from time to time, if only to keep Erin and Pieter posted on late-breaking events ;)

Another person who hasn't been around for awhile is Raf, another person who "grew up" on QZ. YV would have to kick him out of the chat room on a regular basis for awhile, but he settled down. I always liked him. He was quite a character, and is a brilliant guy. I'm not sure if he's finished his final year at university or not, or if this is his final year. I would like to touch base and catch up with him if anyone is still in touch with him via Facebook or whatever.

Iron Eagle checks in from time to time. I guess I'm not doing a very good job as his publicist if people think he's gone.    (love you IE!)

Anyone also remembering the guilt tripping involved in pressuring those people to release Houston '77 prior to it actually happening, after that Michelle Brunheim (csp?) was accidentally killed at work ("How many more fans must die in order for these to come out?" - or something like that)
