why wouldn't you consider the show must go on a ballad? and yes 1.1 minutes according to my playlist on itunes. If you've ever burned a cd you would know you can put 80 minutes of music on it or approx. 1.2 hours worth

In my opinion 4. songs do not belong here. These are Somebody to love, The Show must go on, My Melancoly blues and It is a hard life. Instead i would give Execution of Flash and The Kiss together like on Flash Gordon album. Then Nevermore from Queen II, Dear friands, All death All death and Sail away sweet sister. And live version of White queen from Hammersmith.

Somebody To Love and The Show Must Go On are not ballads, in my opinion.
I would add Nevermore, Dear Friends, Don't Try So Hard, Bijou, The Kiss and A Winter's Tale.

Very interesting topic. My ballad collection would be something along the lines of:
1. Teo Torriatte (though an edit fading out at 4:40, cutting the Shepard tone. Nothing against it, it's just not 'ballad-y') 2. It's A Beautiful Day 3. Love of My Life 4. Face It Alone(!) - a weird choice, I know. Being a sucker for rareties, I'll include it. A trimmed 2:04 version, though. 5. Play the Game 6. It's A Hard Life 7. My Life Has Been Saved 8. Las Palabras de Amor 9. Friends Will Be Friends 10. TMLWKY (MiH version, not Brian's, or the 1989 Freddie demo for Queen) 11. Lost Opportunity 12. Doin' Alright (Queen version) 12. A Winter's Tale 13. ItLoG...Revisited 14. No-One But You [[And as an exclusive limited edition track]] 15. Polar Bear (Smile version)

All death All death is my favourite and it's only 3.166666667 minutes long

I enjoy all of Queen's ballads, but I would not want to listen to them all in a row.

Well who really knows what defines a ballad anyway. I was looking at the tracklisting for Aerosmith's ballad cd and it has "Love In An Elevator" and "Rag Doll" on it, which are obviously not ballads. Well to each his own I guess. Anyhow, I think an entire cd of ballads can be perfect for a melancholy (pun intended) day. But then I'd have to turn on something like Tear It Up or something just to get the blood pumping

that's a proper Ballads list....The Show must go on and Somebody To Love are not ballads. No but you ( only the good die young) could be added as well. Of course we're all gonna disagree on what the best ballads are....IMO My Melancholy Bues is one of the best. play the game is also one of my favorites....spread your wings is a borderline ballad i think.
