I was just comparing recording of You're My Best Friend from the concert in Barcelona on February 20, 1979 to the Live Killers version and I want to say it almost DOES match up!
I guess a few parts (vocals, piano, guitars, drums) don't match up with Live Killers as they could have been re-done in the studio or taken from another concert(s). But please listen to, for example, the "I've been wandering round" line at from 0:52 to 0:54 and to Freddie's shouts at 1:12 and 1:13, and to many other lines and you'll notice they DO match up. I was comparing word to word, sentence to sentence. Phrasing DOES match up, only a few lines don't, but I believe the major part of it comes from Barcelona (I think the whole thing could be from it). Also, Brian's guitar matches up too. Roger's drums could have been re-done in the studio at some spots, but they also match up.
Just listen to it very carefully and you will hear all that yourselves.
At least, it's the closest version to Live Killers ever.

indeed I've just compared, and in my opinion big chunks of the first 1:25 seconds match. The first two lines don't but if you play the recording side by side a lot do I have no doubt the "been wandering round" part comes from this. Of course, we all know there's one person here who we need to comfirm it.

re: "Still wandering around ... happy at home"
His phrasing is the same, but his vowels are very different.
Even if some bits are from Barcelona, it's pretty clear that there are different guitar, drum and vocal parts ... then it's not really from Barcelona, is it ?
The song changed little from night to night, so I don't see this as one of the songs they'd overdub to death.
So in my summation ... it isn't from 2-20-79.

lets hear a few clips left channel is barcalona right is Live killers, i didn't match up everything pefectly but it proves the point, I've used slightly random bits but right down to the "HA take it" before the solo.

It can sound a bit different as this the audience recording and is not in very clear quality.

If this is the case, it may indicate that Live Killers version comes from some concert, which was near Barcelona (counting dates).

I was comparing it in that way as well, which has led me to believe it comes from Barcelona.

Well done, sir - you've sold me. So about half of the song is from Barcelona, in bits and pieces.
Unreal, the amount of edits and overdubs that were done on this live album..

What about me? I first noticed the vocals! Haha

you're welcome, Frankensteining it together like this seems pointless, but it's highly unlikely they sang exactly the same
way twice.
There might be more throughout the track but i couldn't be bothers checking it out.
You don't waste much time updated your site do you?

Ah yes, but of course. I've mentioned you all in the LK analysis on my web. Well done, gents.

Yeah, I just compared the vocal tracks between Barcelona and Live Killers. Many lines match up!
I think we can conclude that bits and pieces (of all the instruments), were used from this version--then the rest was either taken from another show, or overdubbed in the studio.
I'm 100% sure that the line "been with you such a long time" was overdubbed--Freddie never sang the line that strong and clean on this tour--and I can hear the vocal quality change (sounds like a studio voice--not a live voice)!

Thanks Bob! It was interestingly enough to do that job.
