Have any of you ever gone to a concert on your own? There is a concert coming up here that I really want to go to, tickets are still available, and i have nobody to go with. Is it 'done' to go to concerts alone? Will i seem like a total saddo? There are a couple of bands playing, and im not a fan of the headliners, but am a massive fan of one of the 'guests' So i dont even know if its worth going, just for a guest, they'll hardly play more then 3 songs or so? But id kinda still like to go... the driving back in the middle of the night is putting me off a bit, esp as i have to work the next day... but i still do kind of want to go. What do you think? (Just a reminder -- im female lol, which shouldnt be a factor, but it does make me a bit aware that if im on my own maybe i would be a little bit more vulnerable then a guy on his own).

I have been to many concerts alone and for movies I always go alone. It is easier to move on my own and I can pay for the high price tickets without the need to compromise with another person who may not be willing to pay.

I almost never attend concerts with other people. Kinda prefer it that way, since I also bootleg all the shows I've gone to since 2007 :-P

was kinda hoping everyone would say NO NO DONT GO or something lolol. its a long way to drive back on my own, and im working the next day... alice cooper is the guest, and if i was sure he would be playing much, then i would go, but i have no idea how much a 'guest' at a concert would play. :/ The main act are def leppard, who im not a massive fan of, and thin lizzy who i love, but i mostly loved phil lynott, who obviously wont be singing. So thats a huge part of my issue -- is it really worth it on my own, plus sitting thru def lep for hours just for the couple of songs that alice would sing. Thanks guys, at least now i know im not the only person who would go somewhere on my own. maybe ill be brave enough to go...

I have flown to London and Italy to see Roger or Brian as guests just performing WWRY, WATC and GaGa. If that is your hobby just go for it. Other people travel the world only to take a photo of a certain train or to watch a rare bird. The alternative to driving alone in the night is bullying someone into going with you! I have done that, as well :-)

I'm a female, too, and I usually go to concerts alone. I won't miss a concert I like just because nobody can/wants to go with me.
But I've only been to small venues (5000-8000 people), I don't think I would go to Wembley alone, for example.

hmmmm.... i have to have decided by lunchtime tomorrow, but i think i have decided sadly not to go :( mainly cos of trying to drive up and down and worse again finding parking in a city where i am unfamiliar with driving and road layout etc at rush hour! I could take public transport, but it just seems like too big a hassle for the few songs a guest would sing. So i've decided that next year, come hell or high water, I WILL GO to Alice Cooper no matter what! Even if im on my own... now lets just hope he COMES to ireland next year!!! Thanks again all :D

dont see why not, you only live ONCE :) might as well live it your way not the way others thing it should be lived
and if you think going to a cencert alone is sad, what IS sad is going to an 80s concert with your mom and aunty (who you find annoying) whilst dressed like a fucked up bananarama toyah.
but i admit if i go again (cant go this year) id dress 80s rocker but hey
so aye, you should go because no matter how hard you try you will never get as sad as me :P

Alice Cooper was in my city as the headliner mid May. I didn't go. And it was walking distance. And I wasn't busy or anything. What do you think of THAT catqueen? ;)

U know TL played support for King's Of Leon there at Slane not two weeks ago, and i heard they stole the show(though i guess it wasn't hard, i've seen seen KOL before, very bad live IMHO) but yeah, they're still rocking away, even without Phil. :) So I say go, at least there'll be two bands you want to see. :)

I've gone to a few gigs on my own. Mainly back when I lived near London. It can be quite easy to lose yourself in the crowd...
I've just booked for one that I don't think any of my friends are going to! Can you guess which?!!
