You know, i've come to the conclusion that music-ey people dont mind going on their own, cos they genuinely like the music, the buzz and maybe understand the music and significance of live shows.  Whereas non-music-ey people who like whatever the charts tell them to like and who think that the X-factor tour is the highlight of the musical year think its incredibly sad and pathetic to go to a concert on your own.  And maybe its because they just dont 'get' it.  Don't really understand how much u can love music, and,, and, and... i sound like im tripping but im not.  Just thought about it and a lot of the music-ey ppl i know would probably go on their own if they had to, whereas the people i know who get a gang of 10 girls together to go to a boy-band type thing wouldn't dream of it.  But maybe the purpose in going is different.
Ok, that really sounded poncy, but it makes sense to me!  :D

The reasons I prefer to go alone are:

1.  No need to wait for the other person to turn up (although I always distribute the tickets first if I am going with other people),

2.  No need to be disturbed by the other people's chatter because I want to concentrate on watching the show.

And if they are not as big fans as u, then u have to be considerate, and if there's a big group, its harder to fight to the front.  And if they don't enjoy it, u end up feeling bad!

I've gone to a gig on my own only once, and it was this year.

The original plan was to go with my girlfriend, and I have to admit I was really scared she would be late and we wouldn't get a good spot right in the front. We broke up some time before the gig, so I went on my own.

At first it was a bit boring to wait on the queue (the previous times I've been to gigs I always had a friend or relative to chat), but I made new "friends" after some time, got a great spot inside the area and spent the night only a couple of meters away from Slash. ;)

In late September I'm going to Rock in Rio to see Metallica and Motorhead. I know a few people who are attending too, but unless they're planning to arrive in Rio early in the morning, I'm definitely going on my own again!

And i may well end up going to a concert alone soon after all lol.  Just not a concert i am particularly desperate to go to lol.  Kinda like this musician, but not enough to go on my own, but i was expecting to go with someone who is now gone away... and the tickets were given to me... so i kinda have to go cos the ppl who gave me the tickets are going to ask if i enjoyed it LOL.

I don't like concerts enough to go to one on my own.
