True, but I think some casual fans would want an easy to buy release, instead of buying the singles. I already have them, and I'm sure everyone here does too. In the end, it doesn't really matter to us as much.

I think we're generally all picking the same stuff, which is good as I think this could potentially be the strongest Deep Cuts yet.

Tear It Up
Is This The World We Created

Princes Of The Universe
Gimme The Prize

Party
Kashoggi's Ship
Was It All Worth It

Don't Try So Hard
Ride The Wild Wind

That sort of thing. Although they were b sides, I'd love to see room for Hang On In There, Hijack My Heart and ADRRFMD.

I'm actually really excited for these reissues.

Given that "Princes Of The Universe" was a single and appears on Greatest Hits III, It's not likely to appear on Deep Cuts 3.

KYS, SCC, IILWMC, Mustapha etc all appeared on some Greatest Hits collections through the years too! I know the rules :o)

That was just an observation, not an admonishment.

I don't think it will appear, because the 3 UK Hits collections are still being issued and in some cases are replacing older Hits releases from days gone by, particularly many from 1981, where that diversity is found between territories. I think they're basing Deep Cuts on the UK Hits discs, which will preclude a song like "Princes Of The Universe." I could be wrong, though.

You're right. I think it would be a mistake to leave it off. And don't forget too - this batch has less material to select tracks from compared to the first 2 batches.

Yes, there are fewer tracks to pick from, as in the UK there were 4 singles from The Works, 4 from AKOM, 5 from The Miracle, 5 from Innuendo and 5 from MIH; a far cry from '70s. Still, "Scandal" and "A Winter's Tale" aren't considered hits, so that helps.

I found it hard putting my list together, because I wanted to go deeper than even the singles, if I could, and realized that once you take the singles away, the choices are fewer.

Kuijpy...  I would like to see your predictions happen, but judging by QP's standards, you are living in a dream world.
Half of them would fit on the fabled 'Anthology' (why aren't they working on such a thing, it's the 40th anniversary for Christ's sake.... aaaaarrrrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

DC3 should be a compilation of the best tracks from DC1 & DC2. DC4 should include all those tracks from DC1 & DC2 which didn't make it onto DC3.

Well, I predicted 9 out of 14, and expected Mother Love to be the last song. Not too shabby. Very ballsy move putting Taylor/May composition Machines on there as second. As much as I love the song I'm sure Mercury's Keep Passing The Open Windows has much greater appeal to people who are expected to buy these compilations. Also, The Hitman? Don't get me started. It wasn't even on Queen Rocks. Fail!

Sorry for the bump, but rather than a new thread how do people feel about the DEEP CUTS albums now? I had a flick through the booklets and the had a listen and I still don't understand. Obviously the idea is sound, but the track selections are bonkers, the orders are insane and the sleevenotes are tiresome. Nice covers and patchy music. I think I'll flog them.

I still don't like them.

Absolute Greatest was the first Queen album I didn't buy, but I was still hoping it was a one-off occasion. After the Deep Cuts series I finally accepted that QP is no longer interested in the long-time fans.

The whole idea of compiling another three compilations in addition to the existing three was ridiculous to begin with, and the finished products aren't worth the £4 they are selling at the moment.
