99% of the decision to release this type of stuff will be taken by Jim Beach, he may or may not involve Brian or Roger other than to say this is happening shoiut if you disagree, they will probably just let him get on with it as it's a business. That being said it is a puzzle that they never release the 70's concerts when even Brian and Roger must be aware by now that fans want it. I bet Brian has had a million emails about it by now. I guess they view it as simply how many copies can the sell? and the fact it more people will buy a concert with the big 80's hits then one from the 70's. I am sure it will happen eventually because they will surly run out of 80's usable stuff at some point. Of course the amount of work needed to get a 70's concert up to the standard that the band are happy with might simply be too much when an 80's well recorded gig is sitting on the shelf next to it... I really want a Live Killers era concert, but judging by the amount of work and stress getting that LP out took I can only assume it will take a lot of work before the band are happy with the sound.

I believe that it's been said somewhere officially that they are working on a Rainbow 1974 release? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe I did read about it somewhere...
I too have Wembley on DVD, but I'm looking forward to owning the friday concert on DVD and the remastered sound of the saturday concert. Wonder if they are going to delay the release out here on that in the US as all the other remasters. I'm not complaining one bit about the remasters, I've liked it all so far. I AM complaining that it's crap that we get things three months after the fact...there's no good reason for that, I don't care who you are...

It would be lovely if they did actually plan a release that was done purely for artistic reasons rather than for business/monetary reasons, but that hasn't happened for years and years.
It's a shame, cos ironically when they started out they (like most bands) were focussed on the making of the music, and putting themselves across based on their musical and artistic visions. They would release stuff purely cos it was what they wanted from an artistic point of view (Bo Rhap for example) even if it wasn't the obvious business choice. Especially as back in those days after the early dodgy deals they really could have taken a 'safe' view in order to recoup costs. Ironcially, now that they don;t need the money and could afford to release stuff purely for artistic reasons, and to pay back the fans in a small way, they don't, but instead view absolutely every release as a profit/loss balance sheeted business decision This is confirmed by GT and GB who have confirmed on countless occasions that releases are based on a business view - ie they'd rather shift a million copies of a rebundled Greatest Hits, than sell 25,000 archive sets that would get rave reviews from the serious music press, delight and surprise fans, and hopefully reignite their own fire for writing and performing.
Sad isn't it?

If I was Queen I wouldn't give you moaning shower of shite anything either.
rofl, u have a point. But moaning is FUN!

What queen SHOULD do, of course, is invite all of QZ to visit them, sort thru the records, copy what we want and meet us all...

Wasnt Brian May supposed to have said theyre workin on Rainbow74 n Budapest86 sometime ago? As The Rainbow show has already been partly released before its possible we will see this concert sometime in the future. The Wembley release was a bit of a suprise to me considering he said they were workin on Budapest which is from same tour.

By that logic Queen can go fuck themselves too.
Now that both sides have expressed our contempt for eachother, are we any further along to getting what we each want i.e. fans want some unreleased material, and Queen productions want more money? Queen Productions need to do a basic marketing course to learn the definition -- and benefits -- of customer satisfaction ...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You can call me cynical, but I say the wembley show is (re-) released now because they actually did the work for it back in 2003 for the previous release... Hopefully there's only this 8 year lag between working on something and actually releasing it, because the other alternative is that they only START projects and never actually finish them for release.

I dunno if the original idea was to release both nights back then but I know what you mean about the time it seems to take for a "project" th be mentioned and the product actually ever seein the light of day.Prime example bein Hammersmith 75 which is clearly a finished concert (I know there was no encore shown but as its highly unlikely to even exist on film Id call it finished) as it was shown in hd quality on bbc a couple of years back but still no apparent release.

I look at it this way, if QP gave us everything we wanted right away, there wouldn't be anything left to look forward to. I would love to see a DVD from the Live Killer tour like many other people here, there was something special to me about that particular tour that stands out. At least QP got this re-release right by including the entire first show. I'll buy it. Would have loved to see Knebworth with the first show as a bonus.

If they gave us stuff "straight away" - by "straight away" you mean over the last 20 years?!!

Well, of course the old-time fans are happy to see any new release from the band, but BM and RG should recognize (and intervine if they are not doing it) that the band started in the 70s (and not the 80s) and that the fans want all the good staff (concerts) the did between 1974 and 1979. We've had enough from the 80s (maybe we just need their last concert in 86) and we are really expecting a 70's concert to be released soon...
