Hmmm. It's a Hard Life live sounds like its going to be good.Sounds like its a much better mix than the awful mix on the live in Rio video. You never know,we might actually be able to hear Brian's guitar on this mix! A kind of Vision tho? That is dreadful!!!!!!!

This demos reminds me how great addition was John's bass.

But from the snippet, it sounds like Freddie's vocal is perhaps a different take, or they did something with the vocal because it sounds alot more powerful, rather than the one on Made In Heaven...just my take on it.

I think it's actually the contrary - the album version has some processing on the vocal, but this one sounds pretty raw. It's the same take. Ahh...good point! Didn't think about it that way

The "Rock in Rio" video was an edit of both nights from the Festival. Since the Wembley Bonus tracks are from the Friday night & not the already released Saturday gig. Maybe they have done the same with the Rio "Hard Life", Given us the other night's performance.

I have both complete nights of audio, and I did the comparison. It's entirely the first night except for this one line that was seamlessly patched in. Trust me, I've done this kind of thing a few ... hundred times :-)

****************************** Indeed sounds nice, and the demo is longer than the album version! Album version: 3:57 Demo version: 5:02
But only a few interesting things on these batches, it's a shame..

Forgive my ignorance here, but why is it some of the tracks are listed as (2011 Remaster) and some are not? I was just looking over the track listing for the Made In Heaven link and noticed this.
Does this possibly mean that the tracks that DON'T say (2011 Remaster) are simply the same (sounding) versions as released on the original CD?

No, i'd just say that's laziness on the website's part. All the tracks have been remastered.

---------------------- So, did they use this one line to patch from the second night or something else?

Was excited to hear a preview of One Vision (if it is from the first night) All I get is the intro, What a cock tease!

It's definitely the second night in Rio.

All these Island remasters, new compilations and 20 years worth of crap will be worth it only for that Ride the Wild Wind demo. It sounds awesome.

I've been very happy with my remasters thus far, as they've replaced in part a motley crew of scratched or missing CDs and (embarrassingly!) cassettes. However, listening to the Headlong demo just now I'm reminded what a terrible song it is. LOL. It never fails to strike me how Brian, who utterly dominates as the writer of most of my favourite Queen songs, can also be so trite when seemingly left mostly to his own devices.

I've jsut listened the previews, and related to Headlong and Invisble man I think that they are not demos at all, If you listen the chorus part,s you can Hear same additional vocals than the album versions. It is strange to ca a demo with guide vocals but the chorus has somehitng more finished, isn't it?
The Real Wizard · Member since
Not at all. The final vocal is usually the last thing to be done, and sometimes the guide vocal is good enough to work with, even if it's a different singer.

Roger sounds ace on Ride The Wild Wind especially. I wish they had kept him on lead vocals. On Itunes you can listen to the samples in stereo!
One Vision from the first night at Wembley is a great one too.
