Will you agree?

Musically, Lyrically, the tempo. It's just an amazing tune.
I could say it's Brian's best performance overall in a song. This song just gives you chills.
And just listen to this (MULTITRACK): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cM0ZnlUeYkU
You realize how great Freddie was, the keeps amazing me with his wide reperory of vocals. From high to down tone, clean voice and angered voice. Incredible!

This vocal mix is impressive.

Having said that, while I like IWIA and I don't think it's a classic.

A good song from an inconsistent and overall quite disappointing album.

That I disagree.
The Miracle is a great, hard-rock, versatile and fun album. It's really underated. Queen went back to being Queen for me in that album.
While I think AKOM is a good album, The Miracle beats it in almost every way, especially music.
Plus I think it transmit fun and joy, it's a not a bleak algum IMHO.

It's a great track, and maybe in the top 10 of the 80s.  If I had to pick the best 80s track, it'd be either It's A Hard Life or The Miracle.

The Miracle was certainly back to basics for Queen - all the trademark sounds and experimentation are there, balanced with a great pop sensibility.  I will never get why Queen fans don't like Party and Kashoggi's ship, as they are pure classic Queen in every way.  The Miracle remains my favourite 80s Queen album.

Drum machines are not classic Queen in any way.

As for best 80's Queen song, IMO, it's Who Wants to Live Forever.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.

Not too keen on The Miracle (both the album and the track). Best tracks of the 80s are IMO It's A Hard Life, Sail Away Sweet Sister and Save Me.

Yes, but IMO it doesn't quite count. Is Mad the Swine a 90's song? Is Feelings, Feeling a 2011 song?

Obviously not, but the two tracks in question were recorded a few months before the 80s, not decades prior.  Unless you saw Queen in late 1979 (many of which were little club shows), these tracks were first heard by the world in 1980.

Silly comparison, man.

If they were finished on 31st December 1979, at 23.59 (local time of the place they were recording it), they're still from the 70's.

I Want It All has a special place with me because it is the song that got me into the band when I first heard it on the radio when I was 9. Didn't play it much here in the USA if I remember correctly, but once was all it took. That being said, I've never picked a favorite song by the band, or thought it was the best.

And also, everyone has their own opinion of what their 'best song' from the 80's was. There's no right or wrong answer on this one. But it is a great song and one of my top 5 overall Queen songs actually!

I love Party and Khashoggi's Ship as well. A great way to open an album. These two songs are typically Queen. I usually skip all the songs that were singles, because I heard them too many times :-) The new remaster will hopefully change this.
