Only have a sec right now, but it's completely freaking absurd to replace the folly of 'Mary's a c*nt!' with 'Jim and and Peter are c*nts!'.  I mean Jesus Christ.  Like I said previously, delusional.  Not to mention the comical lack of self awareness.  How about you act like you're the adults in the room and help her not only question what she's read, but help her find some empathy for others and a little complexity in the world.

I cun't understand what all the fuss is about.  I cuntpletely understand both sides, if they would've used more self-cuntrol when talking to the press, this cunt have turned out better.

my girlfriend and i are in a state of shock as we hate mary austin because i just got to the bit in mercury and me where mary turned into a cunt, (my gf  has mercury and me too but im beating her at reading it! HA!)

firstly, you eblieve every embitetred load of old bollox you read in books?
secondly,  when did Mary turn into a cunt? cos Freddie is likely to leave EVERYTHING to a cunt isn't he? cos that's the oNE thing that struck me abotu Freddie...gullible fool!!!!

kicking jim, jo and phoebe out of garden lodge then making them take back gifts they gave to freddie IS being a cunt so yes

P.S calm down i did fuck all to u mate

don't tell me to calm down. if you write stuff that is rubbish then you should accept some criticism. Mary was not a c*nt. you are reading a book that is full of bile from interviews and quotes from a few sad old c*nts who couldn't stand the fact that Feddie left it all to Mary. If Freddie had told her.."make sure they always have a home" she'd have honoured it.

the key thing in all of this is that those sad old c*nts show so much respect for Freddie that they'll sell out any private stories and personal info for a couple of thousand quid a time to newpapers and book writers...

Mary, on the other hand has kept a dginified silence...the only stuff she has ever said is stuff that was already widespread public knowledge..... when you add it all up....ONLY Mary had truly respected freddie's memory

the rest of em? c*nts....and money-grubbing-c8nts at that too!!!

I had sleepless nights worrying about everything. I felt as if I'd done something wrong and paranoia set in. Some of the fans even told me I was only the keeper of  the house. That hurt.'     I find that really interesting, particularly her description of how and why they left, and frankly I believe all of them.  It's so easy to imagine how hard it would have been in the middle of such huge grief and huge changes for them to have accurately communicated and perceived each other's perspectives.   I really think Mary did her best in a difficult and unusual situation, and the books don't express contempt for her so much as hurt feelings and hurt pride and confusion.  So easy for misunderstandings to have occurred, like Mary offering their gifts to Fred back likely thinking that would be thoughtful and generous, and the guys taking that as having their connections to the house and to Freddie further undone when they seem to have been not quite ready for that.  The guys not being able to understand that Mary practically felt sick with responsibility for the whole thing, driving some of the decisions like alarms and access rules and security and such.  Mary maybe not fully tuned in to how it feels to have to leave your home reluctantly under really sad circumstances, and that it was a lot more than bricks and mortar to them. Lots of examples like that I think.

Back to the original topic, Brian and Mary were just friends. According to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L36N4BKKir4&feature=related

Never snogged, never bonked.

If going out to dinner and not have any sort of romantic contact qualifies as 'dating', then I guess all the Queen members dated each other.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.

that's your real issue. you don't give a sh*t. you just spout stuff and expect everyone to agree with you - and those that don't automatically become "c*nts". very mature.

you seem to think i am picking on YOU - wrong!!!! - anyone who knows me knows that since i've been here (a long time) i have a "pop" at anyone who states soemthing  like your comments. you are not singled out.

you read one book where a load of old tw*ts who have tarnished the memory of a pop legend by divulging details of his final days, and believe it all to be fact? the whole point of intellect is that you have to learn to take an objective view. and in this case the objective view is that - they were paid for their comments - and they'll only get paid if the comments are worth reading....so they can't just say "oh freddie was unwell and couldnt do things for himself" . no. they needed to embellish things and even tell lies...make it a story worth paying for.

as for it being boring? not really. no discussion is really boring. and if you think it is, then perhaps YOU shouldn't have started the whole thing? think about the natural conclusions of thinsg BEFORE you start a discussion.

people will disagree with you. - i would love to agree with you...but then we'd BOTH be wrong !!!!

IMO we can't really be sure how correct we are about EITHER Jim or Mary. BOTH were messed up post-Freddie's death, BOTH were probably trying to cope and messed-up people tend to cope in messed-up,  weird ways and not always do stuff that's sensible. I felt particularly queasy after reading "Mercury and Me" because as far as I could see some of those details of Freddie's death were things that should have died with him, and not spread out for the entire world to know. I just don't know if I can judge Jim on that score however, because what do I know really?  Maybe he wanted to let it all out and over with. Like Mary did. Maybe being around them was too much for her to handle in an extremely tough harrowing situation.

Anyway...back to the topic...I think the  Untold Story documentary goes into that bit of detail about Brian dating Mary and Freddie meeting her through him. I guess it was more casual friendly dating than anything else, which would probably be why he didn't mind so much when Freddie asked Brian if he could date her.

Brian makes it clear on the documentary that they were NOT dating.

Again, if going to dinner with a person and not having any sort of romantic contact at all qualifies as dating, I suppose we're all dating 20+ people at the moment, sometimes even simultaneously.

Perhaps Brian thought that since be bought dinner, he was entitled to dessert.

But since that didn't happen, out of spite, he hooks the girl up with his gay friend as payback.
