Thanks! Even if you don't have any rarities, you may know people who do. Or even if you know someone who knows someone I'd sure like to hear about it! We can potentially get somewhere if we all get the ball rolling!

Guys, beating up on Gary will not help this matter. He can't give out this stuff, if he did he'd lose his job. But there are people out there who have uber material that don't work for Queen and would most likely not get bashed for sharing their stuff, that's what we want.

i can't see it working. if the hoarders effectively make their "jewels" public domain, what have they left to trade?
lets do some basic maths:
50 traders all own 40% of the rare stuff. by trading with each other this ensures that all the "rare" stuff can potentially end up in 50 places...thereby ensuring there are 50 "safe" copies. now, consider that 10 of them share what they have...those people who acquire new queen stuff will now assume that the whole queen trader environment is sharing everything...thereby making their "leaks" less valuable. the end result?
initially we'll have a glut of stuff hitting the public domain...and some people will cum in their pants...but after the initial euphoria wears off things will be worse than ever...... the one or two people who find new stuff will trust no-one, and nothing will leak

I'm seconding the idea of the starter of the topic. It would be really great, wouldn't it? Seeing new Queen recordings is a great thing. But will it actually be working?

I've never even understood why people hoard stuff in the first place. It's not like they OWN Queen's music in the first place. It's one thing to not share something, but it's a different thing when people "brag" about rarities, then won't share them (the carrot dangling thing). My philosophy is "put up or shut up," or "if you don't want to share it--don't mention it." That's probably one of my few pet peeves I have.
I've got over 400 Elton John concerts in my itunes (audience recordings, soundboards, radio broadcasts), and I never hoard those: Everybody deserves to hear music (which is one of the reasons why I created channels like "Gregsynthbootlegs" and "GregsynthWizard"). Not everybody has access to torrents, internet, etc. I've sent stuff via mediafire, email, even postage mail (because one of my subscribers didn't have internet and wanted to hear Elton and Queen stuff). I never put boundaries on what I trade/post/share, etc.
Like what Zebonka wrote several posts back, if I didn't post stuff on Youtube--nobody would even know about this stuff.

LOL, I was just kidding - couldn't resist. I'm sure Gary knows I wasn't bashing him :)

A lot of these hoarders we are talking about aren't even willing to trade their stuff. They just keep it hidden in their personal archives and it's one of two things:
1. They have no idea that these recordings are important and that a lot of people would highly benefit from hearing them 2. They know this but for some strange reason think it's ok to hoard them.

Not nice, but true nonetheless.
Imagine if they made their live archive public. It wouldn't be of interest to the record-buying public, but it would be a huge deal for us. Just... imagine.

V, I made that topic along time ago, it would be cool, but it will probably never happen..

I was joking with him.....
'tis true, though, but I wasn't being bitchy about it. It was tongue-in-cheek, knowing how a lot of Qzoners think he and GB are responsible for what is actually released.
