This is the only version of IWTBF - a deceptively difficult song to sing - that's been interesting thus far. The guy is a bit weird, but in a way that's got some swagger. Bit of an indeterminate accent and a bit of indeterminate charisma.

Oodles better than the first over-hyped guy singing Somebody To Love. Not only is this guy a much better singer, he is clearly much more professional overall.
Glass bloke is okay, but weak sounding in a couple of important parts of the song. I wouldn't even begin to rate him above that Martel bloke - there's only one of the two who's going to make Nessun Dorma sound any good, and it ain't Glass. I'm not entirely crazy about either of them when it comes to Queen, but I reckon they could both put on a show worth watching. Are they just picking one singer, or a few? I reckon they both deserve a shot at doing this properly, in the interests of personal development.

I thought it was hysterical. It totally made my morning! I've read it a couple more times since. :)

Hey guys,
Sorry for the "newbie" post here, I've been a lurker on Queenzone for quite some time, but have never posted before. But since some of you are enjoying the QE auditions, I'd like to put in a plug for my very own guitar audition, which just went up today:
Seven Seas of Rhye http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMxoid5Wo8Y
A bit about me, since you don't know me here. I've been a guitarist & Queen fan for many, many years, was even lucky enough to see them live in '77 & '78 (NoTW & Jazz tours), as well as Brian's BTtL tour & Q+PR twice. From '94-'96 I had a Queen tribute band in LA called 'Sheer Heart Attack,' really, one of the first ones there ever was. After our singer moved away to pursue theater, we did annual reunion shows for many years afterwards. He's currently performing in 'The Lion King' on Broadway in New York. For the last 10 years, I've been playing in a Led Zeppelin tribute band (my "other" favorite band besides Queen) called 'Led Zepagain,' and also played in the Pink Floyd tribute, 'Which One's Pink?'
Anyway, hope you enjoy it, if you do, I'd really appreciate a good comment on the YouTube page, might help me get to the next round. If I make it, I'll be back here to pester you some more to go and vote for me! :-)
Cheers! Steve Z

Brilliant video, Steve. Hope you get the gig.
As for Led Zepagain, they're probably the best LZ tribute around. Highly recommended to anyone who has a chance to see them. I think they're the only tribute that Page/Plant/Jones somehow endorse, and they've played with Jason Bonham a few times.

And thanks for that, too! Jimmy came to see us in 2004 & hung around afterwards to chat & take pics. zepagain.com has the whole story. From that, we got to attend the Zep reunion show in London back in 2007. To my amazement, as we sat waiting for the show to begin, none other than Brian May himself came & sat directly in front of us. Got to shake his hand & take a pic with him as well, what a gentleman. I will never forget the sight of one of my guitar idols standing in front of me, rocking out to one of my other guitar idols! :-) And Sir GH, big DT fan too, just saw them with Mangini last month, great show!

I just spent a few minutes reading the comments at QueenOnline in response to the announcement of the finalists for Round Two. I thoroughly enjoyed all the auditions I viewed over the past month and congratulate everyone who had the talent and/or balls to post their audition online.
I was a bit embarrassed, however, by the small handful of musicians who chose to use a public forum to vent their anger and frustration about not being chosen, going at great lengths to point out how much more talented they were than some of those who were chosen instead of them. One thing these sore losers are not is professional. A true professional would congratulate the others and then move on in life.
If these musicians HAD won, how unprofessional would they have been as part of a performance team? I for one am glad they didn't make it. Queen Extravaganza is about fun and having a good time.
