Lady Gaga - Gaga To Front Queen?

Lady Gaga is in talks with Queen guitarist Brian May to take over as the band's new lead singer.

Original frontman Freddie Mercury died in 1991 and Paul Rodgers took on vocal duties for the group for five years from 2004.

The collaboration ended in 2009 and now the rockers are looking for another singer to complete their line-up so they can go back on the road.

May is hoping Gaga, whose stage name is inspired by their hit song Radio Ga Ga, will accept an offer to sing for them.

He tells Britain's Daily Express, "We talk about going out on the road all the time but there’s a bit of a singer problem to put it mildly. We get a lot of offers to work with other people. I worked with Lady Gaga and she’s very creative and is someone we’ve talked about singing, fronting the band with. She’s not just a singer, she writes her own material."

The musician is also considering bringing in several guest vocalists to give renditions of Queen's hit tracks as part of a TV show: "We have talked about doing duets with other people and in a strange way I almost pressed the yes button. We were debating the idea of a TV show where we have all these guest stars. We didn’t press it today but we are still looking at it. Lady Gaga has said she would like to do something with us."

Brian and Roger, just retire and enjoy the checks you get without having to kill Queen fans with things like this.

She was Freddie's favourite singer anyway.

Well.. if it's my last chance to see Queen,.... i guess it'll be with the drag queen..

Ah well,... at least there'll be TONS of hot chicks at the shows...

i just cant imagine the band working out that well with a woman... no offense.

Although i'd pay to see the hell out of it (aware this expression makes no sense)... even if Annie Lennox fronted the band, i'd still think it was pretty off..

as much as i used to whistle that tune in high school... to me Lady GaGa is pretty much what the song was about...

p.rodgers was not my cup of tee but this is just awful...  a bad joke, and the fact that it's not a joke makes it even worse

How is she able to sing Fat Bottomed Girls convincingly ?

1/ Lady GaGa is not the new Madonna; she might have been, but she's already on the way out (The Fame sold 12m copies worldwide, Born This Way 5m).

2/ Yet, as things stand now, Queen would be still her backing band and people in US arenas would take their pee break during Love Of My Life the same way Queen fans did during Seagull

3/ Lady GaGa fronting Queen: WTF? What about Fergie ? She's also sold a lot of pop records and she's probably looking for a new band too?

The Queen Extravaganza fiasco, now this ... It will never happen, but it would be nice if Bri and Rog could think of something that makes sense in the near future

All this is bringing confusion to the 40th anniversary
